Casa Francesca, once horse stable of the antique palace belonged to Lord Guinigi (1400s) now it has been converted into a homey apartment with a private fenced garden. The renovation was done to highest standards making up 2 comfortable bedrooms, 3 bathrooms all with grand built-in showers and bathtub, air conditioning, WIFI, a private fenced garden furnished with table and chairs and a little sofa, any kind of kitchen appliances and utensils.
The apartment has two entrances, one from the garden and one from the street, enjoys abundant sunlight throughout the day, making it bright and cheerful. This is a rare feature in Italy, where many buildings are shaded by narrow streets. The location is the quietest and the nicest, overlooking the gardens from where the lovely chirping of birds comes. It is composed of: a grand living room, a spacious fully equipped kitchen opening onto the garden, a spacious dining room opening to the garden as well, 2 double bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a LAUNDRY ROOM fully equipped with washer/dryer, iron and board.
The apartment is ideal for different types of guests who value privacy and comfort. It can accommodate two couples of friends who want to have their own bedrooms and bathrooms, or two friends who prefer not to share the same sleeping and bathing spaces. It can also host a family of four who want to enjoy a cosy and spacious home away from home.
The rental property is located within the ZTL area (Limited Traffic Area, accessible only by permanent residents and people with special permission) and does not offer on-site parking although you can make a stop nearby the accommodation to drop off your luggage.
The closest Parking Mazzini, is located in a walking distance from the rental property, so leaving the car there prior reaching the apartment is essential. By following the road signs you will be able to avoid the ZTL area while driving to the parking. The closest free parking is located outside the city walls at just 5 mins on foot.
We kindly inform all guests that the rental property is self catering so hotel-like services are excluded by law (reception, surveillance of the accommodation, provision of meals and drinks, daily cleaning and linen change, transfers). For such reason any additional service can be provided on request and with the collaboration of external qualified partners and charged accordingly.

About the area
Lucca, Italy, is a captivating city that embodies the quintessential charm of Tuscany. Enclosed by well-preserved Renaissance walls that have been transformed into a pedestrian promenade, the city invites visitors to step back in time and explore its historical treasures at a leisurely pace.
The heart of Lucca is its old town, a labyrinth of cobblestone streets, picturesque piazzas, and elegant buildings. The Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, a unique elliptical square, is a highlight, built on the ruins of an ancient Roman amphitheater. Visitors can enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the piazza, which is lined with cafes and shops, perfect for sipping a cappuccino and people-watching.
Lucca's rich history is showcased in its numerous churches, the most famous being the San Michele in Foro with its stunning façade and the Lucca Cathedral (Duomo di San Martino), which houses remarkable artworks and the revered Volto Santo di Lucca, a wooden crucifix. The city's religious heritage is further celebrated during the Luminara di Santa Croce festival, where Lucca is illuminated by thousands of candles in a breathtaking display.
For those with a taste for adventure, climbing the Guinigi Tower offers a rewarding experience. The tower is notable for the ancient oak trees growing atop its roof, providing a unique vantage point over the city and the surrounding Tuscan countryside.
Music enthusiasts will find Lucca especially endearing as it is the birthplace of the famous composer Giacomo Puccini. The Puccini Museum, located in his childhood home, is a pilgrimage site for opera lovers, and the city hosts an annual summer festival celebrating his works.
Beyond its historical and cultural offerings, Lucca is also a gateway to the Tuscan landscape, with opportunities for cycling and hiking along the Serchio River or through the nearby hills. The city's culinary scene is equally enticing, featuring traditional Tuscan cuisine, fine wines, and local specialties like Buccellato, a sweet bread that is a Lucca staple.
Lucca's blend of history, culture, and natural beauty, combined with its relaxed atmosphere and friendly locals, makes it a destination that offers a truly authentic Italian experience. Whether you're seeking to immerse yourself in history, enjoy the arts, or simply indulge in the pleasures of Italian life, Lucca is a city that will capture your heart and leave you longing to return.
