House rules

  • INDOOR HOUSE RULES
  • Aloha Guests! Welcome! We have a few house rules to make your stay a safe and enjoyable one
  • PLEASE:
  • *This is a non smoking residence
  • *Lock the house each time you leave it.
  • * If you open one of the screen doors, please close it promptly to keep mosquitos out of the hale.
  • * Do not move any of the furniture.
  • * Don't take furniture, pillows or bedding outdoors.
  • * Please leave the washing machine door open after each load to prevent mildew.
  • PRINCEVILLE AT HANALEI COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION RULES
  • Welcome! This house is in a quiet residential neighborhood. Most of the neighbors live here full time and many are friends. The following information is to help make your stay pleasent for you and the neighborhood:
  • - Princeville Patrol enforces quiet time after 10 PM and can also be called if excessive noise continues during the day time hours creating a nuisance to the neighborhood. So please respect this noise prohibition policy and live like a local with Aloha. Princeville personnel patrol our community so violators will be cited and fined and Kauai Police Department can also be called. On Kauai we all sleep with our windows open to allow the trade winds to circulate, so noise from the lanai or the hot tub really carries into our neighbors' homes at night. Fines are $300 per Patrol visit.
  • - Trash pickup is early Wednesday morning, so please put all trash in the large County of Kauai wheeled barrel and place it out by the street no earlier than noon on Tuesday. The lid must be able to close or the can will not be picked up (no overflowing cans). No trash bags located outside the can will be picked up. If located on a cul-de-sac, there is a specific area where the cans all line up so the truck can pick them up easily. The cans should be placed back in their proper storage place by Wednesday evening. The gine for putting the can out too early or leaving it out too late is $150.
  • - Parking is allowed in the garage and driveway only. If vehicles are left on the lawn, road, or road shoulder or are not compeltely contained on the driveway (all 4 wheels) after 10 PM, it will result in a $150 fine.
  • - Princeville Patrol personnel are on duty 24/7 and can be reached at (808) 826-6181 if the need arises.
  • - Please be careful when visiting our North Shore Beaches! The lifeguarded beaches are located at Hanalei Bay, Haena Beach Park, and Ke'e Beach. There are many beaches that can be dangerous at different times of the year. Visit www.kauaiexplorer.com for up to date information on ocean conditions.
  • Mahalo!
  • PRINCEVILLE RULES
  • Parking
  • Vehicles that are parked on the road shoulder overnight (after 10 PM) will be subject to the Barnacle parking enforcement device.
  • The Barnacle attaches to the vehicle's windshield and requires a $150 payment to release the device. By utilizing the Barnacle on the road shoulders, we increase the effectiveness of attaching the violation to the appropriate person. Otherwise, if a vehicle parks on the road shoulder across the street from their house, the violation may not be applied to the proper account.
  • No parking in the driveway unless actively loading or unloading.
  • Noise Nuisance Violation
  • The noise rules states:
  • Section 20. NOISE NUISANCE
  • A. The Declaration provide dthat "No noxious or offensive activity shall be carried upon any land in Princeville at Hanalei, nor shall anything be done thereon which may be or may become an annoyance or nuisance to the neighborhood."
  • B. Noise sources which may constitute an annoyance / nuisance include, but are not limited to: boisterous activities, incessant animal noise, musical instruments, audio equipment, televisions, unmuggled or inadequately muffled motor vehicles, public address systems, spa / pool activity.
  • C. Nuisance noise is defined as being excessively loud at the property line of the nearest neighbor.
  • - $150 for noise violations that occur between 7 AM and 10 PM.
  • - $300 for noise violations that occur after 10 PM and before 7 AM. If the noise continues, each violation will be $500 and can be applied every half hour.
  • ***Any fines for violations of these house rules will be charged to the Guest.***
  • SANDPIPER VILLAGE RULES
  • Aloha residents of Sandpiper Village.
  • A gentle reminder regarding house rules most commonly broken. As always, we know that together, we can continue to make Sandpiper Village "no ka oi", or the best little neighborhood on the north shore. Thanks for your cooperation.
  • - The Sandpiper Village Management and Board
  • 1. Silence is golden! Quiet time is 9 PM - 8 AM. Please remember our close proximity. Unnecessary loudness in common areas, pool, and hot tub areas, and even through open louvered windows and lanais can disturb neighbors.
  • 2. Parking - We are extremely stressed at full capacity. Two vehicles are allowed per unit (Hideaway Haven and Hideaway Haven Suite, together - One vehicle per side). Every vehicle must be registered with the manager. Third vehicles, unregistered vehicles, and those that have already received a notice will constitute towing, disabling, and fining of unit renters.
  • 3. Lanais - Please keep Sandpiper looking neat. Hanging items over railings is not permitted. Only Coolaroo brand tan hanging shades may be used. There is no cooking on lanais. Unsightly storage appliances, etc. constitute violations. Hanging plants must be board approved.
  • 4. Appearance should also be uniform from the exterior. Window covers must be white or neutral shade. No personal items, furniture of any type, a proliferation of plant pots, bicycles, or toys are permitted in common areas. Any alterations to grounds or buildings must be board approved.
  • 5. Pets must be registered, have tags, and be approved by the unit owner if you are a tenant. Please ensure that your dog is leashed when not in the unit and noise kept to a minimum. Messes must be immediately picked up. We have lots of keiki who enjoy the grounds so let's keep it clean! You can also help to keep pests at bay by not feeding your animals outside.
  • 6. Rubbish - Remember, no furniture or other large materials should be placed by the dumpster. All garbage must go IN dumpster. Flatten cardboard neatly. Recycling is ONLY for glass, plastic, and aluminum marked HI-5. All other recycling, from glass and paper to beds and appliances - recycle at the transfer station. Check: https://www.kauai.gov/TransferStations
  • 7. Smoking is prohibited in common areas except for the back parking lot. Smoking is prohibited within 20 feet of any building, including lanais.
  • 8. Pool Guidelines - Violations such as excessive noise and unsafe behavior can make the pool unpleasant, and dangerous for keiki and kupuna. Your cooperation truly helps make the pool user-friendly for all. We will continue with the pandemic-initiated limits; pool capacity 10 people, stays 1 hour, and as at other condos, no non-resident guests are allowed.
  • 9. Air Conditioning - Submissions of proposals for interior or split AC will now be considered by the board. Please follow the new House Rules guidelines and submit a proposal.
  • Once again, mahalo for your cooperation!
  • *Every resident at Sandpiper should have access to the complete House Rules. It includes fines and fee structure for infractions. If you need a complete copy of the rules, please ask your rental manager or the Sandpiper Resident Manager. Also, please submit your cell phone number to our manager Bob if you would prefer to receive text messaging regarding notices.
  • Mahalo,
  • B&B Watson, Resident Manager
  • FEES / FINES
  • Please note, any fees / fines incurred by the guest during their stay will be the responsibility of the guest, NOT the owner. Any fees / fines will be charged to the guest's account.
