We truly want you to enjoy your time and make some wonderful memories with your group. That being said, this is not a party or gathering house for groups that can’t control their noise levels. We have relationships with all of our neighbors who have our direct contact information. Quiet time is 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. Please stay indoors during this time, keep the windows and doors closed and keep the volume to an enjoyable but reasonable level. If it is loud enough to be heard outside in these conditions, it is too loud for you to remain our guest. This property includes a noise alert monitoring system in order to ensure that neighborhood noise levels are respected. Again, please realize we want every group to enjoy their time, laugh, have fun and make memories. These devices are only to ensure noise levels don’t reach a threshold that bothers our neighbors. Also, please note there is no electronic video surveillance monitoring the interior of the house.
PET FRIENDLY: **There is a $100 pet fee per pet with a maximum of $300 (3 pets). Although we are pet-friendly please note your pet must not be left unattended at the house without you present, even if in a crate/kennel. About the area
Oregon City, Oregon, is a destination steeped in history and natural beauty, offering a unique blend of cultural heritage and outdoor adventure. As the first city in the United States west of the Rocky Mountains to be incorporated, it is a place where the past is palpably present, and visitors can immerse themselves in the pioneering spirit that shaped the Pacific Northwest.
The city's most iconic landmark is the End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center, where travelers can learn about the lives of the early settlers who journeyed along the Oregon Trail. Interactive exhibits and living history demonstrations provide a vivid glimpse into the challenges and triumphs of these intrepid pioneers.
Another historical highlight is the McLoughlin House, part of the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site, which was the home of Dr. John McLoughlin, known as the "Father of Oregon." The house offers a window into the 19th-century life and the significant role McLoughlin played in the region's development.
For those drawn to natural wonders, Oregon City does not disappoint. The Willamette Falls, the second largest waterfall by volume in the United States, is a spectacular sight. Visitors can take in the falls from various viewpoints, and plans for a public riverwalk promise even greater access to this natural marvel.
Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to do, from kayaking on the Willamette River to hiking and biking the numerous trails that surround the city. The Clackamette Park, where the Clackamas and Willamette rivers meet, is a popular spot for picnicking, fishing, and simply enjoying the scenic beauty.
Oregon City also boasts a vibrant downtown area, with a growing number of shops, restaurants, and breweries that reflect the city's creative and entrepreneurial spirit. The Municipal Elevator, another unique feature, offers a quick ride to a viewing platform with panoramic views of the city and the surrounding landscape.
Cultural events, such as the Oregon City Festival of the Arts and weekly farmers markets, add to the city's charm and provide visitors with opportunities to engage with the local community.
In essence, Oregon City is a destination that honors its rich history while embracing the vitality of the present. It's a place where the stories of the past are interwoven with the natural splendor and community life of today, making it a compelling stop for travelers seeking a multifaceted experience.
