Park your car, and walk everywhere from this pet and family-friendly cottage — where you can hear the cry of seagulls during the day and the murmur of waves at night — just a few minutes’ walk away from spectacular Lovers Point beach, and restaurants and shopping in downtown Pacific Grove.
The 3-bedroom, 2-bath newly remodeled historic home, known as the C.A. McCoy House and built originally in 1887, features an open floor plan with modern amenities. Tall ceilings and windows that let in plenty of natural light give this residence a spacious ambiance, with easy-care flooring that is perfect for pet owners.
Besides being just steps from the beach, the 1100 square-foot home also offers easy access to attractions such as Pacific Grove Municipal Golf Links, Point Pinos Lighthouse and Asilomar State Beach, and to the Monterey Peninsula Recreation Trail, perfect for walking, running or cycling.
The house is also in the heart of Pacific Grove’s city park network, and is close to Jewell Park, Caterpillar Park and Caledonia Park, which includes a tots’ play area, climbing equipment for older children and picnic tables. A little further south is George Washington Park, a forested area with nature and hiking trails. Also nearby is the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History, offering displays and information on plants, animals and sea life of the region.
It’s also only a few minutes by car to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and historic Cannery Row. Downtown Monterey, Carmel and golfing in Pebble Beach are a 10-minute drive away, and other attractions within a half hour’s drive are the natural wonders of Big Sur and wine tasting and dining in Carmel Valley Village.
Living Space
Guests can enter through the mint-green front door from the porch, or through the side door into the primary suite. The front door opens into the living room, which includes a comfortable dark blue couch, a coffee table, several chairs, a modern metal chandelier, and a 46-inch HDTV.
Kitchen and Dining
The kitchen features a stainless steel gas range, dishwasher, refrigerator, generous amounts of cupboard and counter space, custom deep blue cabinetry and tiled backsplash. The dining table is in the middle of the kitchen features ocean-themed wall art and a glass-topped dining table with 4 metal chairs and stools are on hand for casual counter seating nearby.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
The three bedrooms each feature queen beds with a color scheme in white, gray and blue, with cozy white quilted comforters, fabric headboards and ocean-themed wall art.
Bedroom #1 has a queen bed, direct access outside and an en suite bathroom with a standing shower.
Bedroom #2 has a queen bed and is located near the living area.
Bedroom #3 has a queen bed and is next to the full bath in the hallway with a standing shower.
A stacked washer and dryer are available in a closet at the end of the hallway near two of the bedrooms.
There is one off-street parking space next to the house and additional parking on the street.
Well-behaved, quiet dogs are welcome with pre-approval, an additional pet fee and a signed pet addendum.
