This charming mountain home in Beech Mountain, the highest town east of the Mississippi River, is less than 5 minutes away from Beech Mountain Ski Resort and winter favorites like skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, and snow tubing. The resort transitions to world-renowned mountain biking and hiking trails in the summer. Buckeye Recreation Center is 10 minutes away with a playground, volleyball and tennis courts, a fitness area, and Buckeye Lake for fishing and boating. The town of Banner Elk is 15 minutes down the mountain, with shopping and fabulous local restaurants. A few other High Country attractions within 20 minutes include Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster, Sugar Creek Gem Mining, Banner Elk Winery, and Sugar Mountain Ski Resort.

Heavens Door has custom features, including vaulted tongue-and-groove ceilings and accent beams, a stone fireplace, and a wall of windows revealing the Blue Ridge mountains. The open-concept living area has cozy leather seating and an HDTV. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and dining at the main table and bar.
On the main level is the Master King bedroom with an ensuite full bathroom. On the next level down are two additional King bedrooms, each with an ensuite full bathroom. The final sleeping space is a bunk room with two Twin-over-Full bunks on the lowest level. There is also a game room on the lowest level, with an air hockey table, darts, seating, and an HDTV. Other note-worthy amenities include a hot tub, two decks with outdoor seating, and a gas grill.
You are welcome to bring two pets on your vacation. Additional fees apply. The cabin includes Wi-Fi, TV programming, Hulu, central heat, and a washer and dryer. Winter guests should prepare with 4WD or AWD and snow chains. This home is over 5000 feet above sea level and has no Air Conditioning. However, the summer weather is mild and breezy.
