Welcome to Speckles!
Speckles is a charming rustic log cabin nestled on a large property with pastoral mountain views in the quaint community of Todd, between Boone and West Jefferson. Its convenient location makes it the perfect base for exploring the area, with both Boone and West Jefferson just a short drive away. The cabin offers numerous living and entertaining areas and comfortable sleeping accommodations for 10 guests, spread throughout three levels of rustic cabin living with a fresh contemporary update.
The main floor offers an open floorplan with a lovely kitchen featuring stainless appliances, granite countertops, and a huge island bartop with 6 bar stool seats. Adjacent to the kitchen is the dining area, with a farm-style dining table that seats 6 more, offering dining for up to 12 people. The open Great Room has wood floors, rustic log walls, and vaulted ceilings and offers comfortable furniture, a dramatic floor-to-ceiling wood-burning stone fireplace, and a large HD Smart TV.

You will find a gas grill, plenty of outdoor seating, and a new hot tub on the expansive open patio. The screened porch beside the patio features an outdoor dining table, more comfy outdoor seating, and two fun hammock-style suspended chairs. At the front of the cabin is the covered front porch with a porch swing and level entry into the main floor. There is level entry into the lower floor. The wood-burning fire pit, an easy walk from the front porch, features pastoral mountain views, natural mountain surroundings, and Adirondack-style armchair seating. The gravel driveway with parking at the front and a one-car attached garage six steps down from the front door to the side provides ample parking for numerous vehicles.
The primary king bedroom is on the main floor, with mountain views and an HD Smart TV. Adjacent to the king bedroom is the main level full bathroom. It has a granite vanity counter, his-and-hers vessel sinks, a jetted soaking tub, a separate level-entry shower, and a private water closet.
Upstairs has comfy seating with a wall of windows framing the best mountain views in the house! The loft is a great place to read, relax, and enjoy the unmatched beauty of our High Country. Also on the upper level are two more bedrooms and a full bathroom with tub and shower. The upper king bedroom features vaulted ceilings, mountain views, an HD Smart TV, and a single sleeper chair for additional sleeping options. The other upper king bedroom has a twin bed for additional sleeping options, mountain views, and an HD Smart TV.
The lower level features a large family room with a stone gas log fireplace, a huge HD Smart TV, and comfy furniture. There is a card table and chairs, board games, working on jigsaw puzzles, and more. Also, to provide even more sleeping options and flexibility, there is a bunk bed nook with a twin-over-full bunk bed, and the sofa is a full-sized sleeper. The attached one-car garage, a half bathroom, and a laundry closet with a washer and dryer are accessible from the lower-level family room.
Speckles offers more features and conveniences that guests are sure to appreciate! Central heat and air conditioning provide year-round comfort control. High-speed WiFi Internet and digital streaming TV programming on all 5 HD Smart TVs make work and play easy and enjoyable. Pets are welcome if you want to bring your dog! Two dogs are allowed per reservation, and standard pet fees and rules apply.
