Welcome to Sleepy Valley Hideaway!
Aaahhh – that feeling that washes over you as you begin your ascent to the High Country.
The higher the elevation, the lower the stress level. It’s a chance to leave the heat and humidity, the faster pace and noises of the city, and embrace the peace and tranquility of the mountains. Welcome to Sleepy Valley Hideaway, thoughtfully designed to provide an oasis to its guests. Situated in the middle of several pastoral acres, it is deceptively close to town and everything you need, yet you’ll feel like you’re away from it all. This updated log house provides the charm of a mountain cabin and amenities aimed at comfort and ease.
The main level offers a great room with mountaintop and pastoral valley views, soaring vaulted tongue-and-groove ceilings with exposed beams, hardwood floors, a gas log fireplace, and comfortable furniture that invites conversation and connection. A large armoire holds various games, puzzles, and cozy throw blankets. The adjacent open kitchen has stainless appliances, a gas cooktop, custom wood cabinets and is fully-stocked to delight the vacationing gourmet cook. The large dining table comfortably seats up to 10 guests. The pantry is just off the kitchen, complete with a high-efficiency washer and dryer and supplies for your canine companions.
Dogs are permitted with a maximum of 2 dogs and a 40-pound weight limit per dog. Allows pets with an additional fee.
The main-level King master suite enjoys views of mountaintops, the valley, and surrounding hills. A sizeable walk-in closet, a comfortable seating area for two, a large flat-screen HDTV, and a private ensuite bathroom with granite counters and a ’room-for-two’ custom tiled shower complete the master suite.
The second main-level King bedroom has generous storage space, a cozy sitting area, and another large flat-screen HDTV. The adjacent full hallway bathroom offers a combo tub and shower.
The large upstairs King bedroom has an HDTV, a generous walk-in closet with additional bedding and iron/ironing board, and a sitting area with a full-sized pillow-top convertible sleeper sofa for extra sleeping options. The upstairs full bathroom, located between the bedroom and loft, has been updated recently.
The loft is a welcoming sanctuary for television viewing, reading, or gameplay. The comfy feathers sectional invites guests to sink into comfort while they watch a favorite show, enjoy a book from the loft bookshelves, or take a nap. The sofa can provide extra sleeping space if needed – it’s that comfortable.
The fourth bedroom is on the lower level and offers two twin beds. An additional twin-sized folding cot is under the stairs and can be used wherever convenient for an additional sleeping option. The lower-level den has an HDTV, a working wood stove, and a walk-out glass door to the massive yard and ground-level courtyard. Adjacent to the den is a fun game area with a slate pool table. A full bathroom with a large shower rounds out the lower level. Yard games and equipment and picnic supplies are next to the bathroom in the lower level closet.
There are five HDTVs throughout the house. All are Smart TVs with digital cable programming. Three of the four bedrooms (excluding the bunk room) have HD Smart TVs, with two extra-large HD Smart TVs in the upper and lower living areas. High-speed WiFi Internet is available throughout the house as well.
Beyond all of the ample spaces to spread out inside, one of the most enjoyable features at Sleepy Valley Hideaway is the outdoors where you can extend your living space onto the massive covered deck wrapping around two sides of the house, and offering a gas grill, two outdoor dining areas, and a conversation set from which to soak in the mountain air. Further outdoor seating is available under the grape arbor, with perennial herbs and blueberry bushes available to enjoy seasonally. It’s an ideal place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee, an evening glass of wine, or a summertime firefly light show.
Below the main level deck and accessible from the walk-out lower level den is a courtyard with a new hot tub, rocking chairs, and a lounge area.
Sleepy Valley Hideaway is outside Boone proper, conveniently centered in the High Country, making it close to local attractions. Access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is just 2 miles down the road at Bamboo Gap, providing a jumping-off point for multi-mile long-range views and exploration.
The Boone Greenway is an easy 2-mile drive if you are looking for a flat trail to walk, run, or bicycle. Brookshire Park, with numerous soccer fields, picnic areas, a bold creek, walking and running track, biking, hiking, and more, is also 2 miles away. For the more adventurous cycler, Rocky Knob mountain biking trails are 2.5 miles away. Twenty minutes in any direction will take you to rivers and lakes, hiking trails of all levels, or dozens of boutiques and antique shops.
