Magnificent lakeside 300 year old barn in idyllic Sonning Eye. The gentle trickle of the open lake brings a tranquil setting, in the summer evenings toast marshmallows around the fire pit and lay out a champagne picnic by the pond. This truly magical gem is just a mere 8 minutes drive from Henley-on-Thames and just a minute away from the renowned French Horn restaurant and popular Sonning-on-Thames.
Rustic charm meets pure luxury - a stunning getaway for 12 guests in Sonning Eye. This gorgeous conversion wows guests from the moment they arrive.
Entry is through large double doors, with floor to ceiling glass, into a generous open plan hallway which leads onto the living/kitchen area which has clearly been designed for socialising.
The huge open plan lounge and kitchen is full of character and charm, featuring striking floor to ceiling windows and beams. A modern kitchen awaits, with a large dining table and plenty of seating for all, will inspire lengthy, relaxed breakfasts and endless dinners where guests can feast. The kitchen is kitted-out with every convenience the modern cook could wish for. As the area is open plan, the cook never needs to miss a moment of the fun. After dinner, retire to the large sofas for coffee overlooking stunning views across the pond.
At bedtime chose from one of the four meticulously designed bedrooms, all beautifully furnished, with beds dressed with crisp linens and scatter cushions, and all including their own bathrooms. One bedroom also features a standalone bath tub and lounge area which features a sofa bed to sleep a further 2 more guests.
After hours of taking in the scenery, grab the popcorn and drinks and continue the evening in the second lounge in front of a movie.
Outside is just as versatile and impressive as the interior, with a large sunny private patio, which is home to sun loungers, an outside dining area. There is also a pond directly in front of the house can be fenced off with prior notice for the safety of young children and dogs. The lawned garden is a big enough space for playing football and other outdoor games to keep children and adults alike entertained. The garden also features a BBQ, fire pit and a basketball court. Please note that we do not provide wood, firelighters or matches.
Guest should be aware that the stairs leading to one of the bedrooms are very steep.
Dogs are very welcome to join you during your stay; however, please note that they must not be left unattended at the property at any time. Please note that there is an additional £30 charge per pet.
