Surrounded by serene woodlands, scenic trails, and close to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and Cleddau Estuary, The Stables provides a perfect base to explore the stunning countryside, rivers, and coastline. It’s the ideal spot to relax and immerse yourself in nature’s beauty.
The Stables provides a perfect one level home for families and friends with a modern finish and a warm, cosy feel.
The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to rustle up a family meal to enjoy at the dining table in the living room. Enjoy a morning coffee sitting at the breakfast bar while looking out at the mature gardens. The living room offers plenty of seating for all guests, with an electric fire and a wall-mounted flat screen TV. With plenty of natural light, provided by the french doors, which lead to a private patio and garden that gives an indoor/outdoor feel.
At the far end of The Stables you’ll find both bedrooms with comfortable beds with a King in the master bedroom and two singles in the second bedroom. Both bedrooms have plenty of storage, with wardrobes or chest-of-drawers in each.
Benefiting from 1.5 bathrooms, the main bathroom has a powerful walk-in shower with a convenient cloakroom located just off the living space.
Completing the property, there is a sizeable utility room with direct access for washing off after a muddy adventure. The access also leads to a second patio space which is a peaceful sun-trap year-round.
A private garden at the front of the property offers a secluded area for enjoying the countryside and local wildlife and is equipped with an outdoor dining area and BBQ. Parking is also at the front of the property (with sufficient parking for two cars).
Guests have exclusive and private use of the listing during their stay
Lesley and Steve live next door in the adjoining farmhouse and are normally available to assist guests during their visit, should they need any help or directions etc. We ordinarily assume guests are happier left to enjoy the space and privacy, but if you need us, we’re always available on the phone too.
Salt & City Stays will be available throughout your entire stay to ensure you have everything you need. From answering inquiries to assisting with recommendations or issues, we are here to make your stay seamless and enjoyable. You may hear from any of us in our small, dedicated team during your stay.
There’s plenty to explore on foot, with walkways and footpaths directly from the property. Trails lead wind their way through ancient oak woodland and to the Cleddau Estuary, where Woodpeckers, Kingfishers and Herons are common sightings.
The Stables is also ideally located to make the most of the local attractions such as Bluestone Resort, Manor Park Wildlife Park, The Dinosaur Park, Wild Lakes and Heatherton Adventure Park. A short drive would take you to the coast with Tenby, Saundersfoot and Freshwater being popular destinations.
You will preferably need a car to make the most of your stay in Pembrokeshire. Whilst there’s plenty of stunning places to walk to from The Stables, we’re not on any public transport routes. There’s plenty of secure storage for bikes, and we’re always happy to recommend routes or trails. We’re a short ride from the Ironman Wales bike route with its challenging hills and stunning coastal views.

About the area
Saundersfoot, a charming coastal village in Pembrokeshire, Wales, is a delightful destination that offers a serene escape with its picturesque beaches, scenic harbor, and inviting community. This quaint seaside resort is nestled on the shores of Carmarthen Bay and is a jewel in the crown of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
The village's main attraction is its beautiful, sandy beach, which stretches out to provide a perfect setting for sunbathing, sandcastle building, and leisurely strolls. The beach is also a favorite for water sports enthusiasts, offering conditions suitable for swimming, kayaking, and sailing. The coastal waters around Saundersfoot are teeming with marine life, making it an excellent spot for fishing and boat trips, which often include excursions to nearby Caldey Island, home to a community of Cistercian monks.
Saundersfoot's harbor is a bustling hub of activity, where visitors can watch local fishermen land their daily catch or embark on a coastal cruise to explore the stunning shoreline. The harbor area has undergone significant redevelopment, enhancing its appeal with a mix of shops, cafes, and restaurants that serve fresh, locally sourced seafood and other culinary delights.
For those interested in history and culture, Saundersfoot has a rich mining heritage, with old coal mines that once thrived in the area. The village is part of the larger network of walking trails, including the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, which offers breathtaking views of the rugged coastline and opportunities to discover hidden coves and beaches.
The village also hosts a variety of events throughout the year, such as the Saundersfoot New Year's Day Swim, which sees hundreds of brave souls take a dip in the chilly waters for charity. The annual Saundersfoot Harbour Festival is another highlight, celebrating the maritime heritage with music, food, and family-friendly activities.
For a more relaxed experience, visitors can indulge in the local wellness offerings, including spa treatments that incorporate the therapeutic qualities of the sea. The surrounding countryside, with its rolling hills and lush landscapes, provides a peaceful backdrop for those looking to unwind and reconnect with nature.
In essence, Saundersfoot is a destination that offers a blend of natural beauty, recreational activities, and a warm Welsh welcome, making it an ideal spot for families, couples, and solo travelers seeking a coastal retreat.
