Welcome to Alta Vista Haus, a Gambrel-style home located in the highly sought-after Lower Moonridge area. Tucked under tall pine trees, this cozy charming cabin offers a peaceful combination of rustic simplicity with modern convenience and comfort. This gorgeous retreat sleeps 4 comfortably and features 2 bedrooms and 1.5 baths. Amazing hot tub located just off the wrap-around deck is perfect for relaxation and stargazing. Minutes from the Alpine Zoo, shops, restaurants, and grocery stores!
Spacious living room features a gas/wood fireplace; a 70” TV coupled with Apple TV and access to Netflix and Hulu. Additional convenience and entertainment with an Amazon Echo Dot, bluetooth speaker, puzzles and board games.
Lofted master bedroom overlooks the living room. Sliding glass patio doors lead out to a private balcony. Note that bedrooms do not have individual doors to them and are separated by a stairway. A privacy curtain is provided for the guest room. Top of the stairs features a lockable mesh gate for the kiddos and dogs.
Second bedroom features a trundle bed with pull-out twin bed underneath and also has its own private balcony. This second bedroom features a 40” TV (use TV remote to power on/adjust volume), and a first-generation Apple TV for Netflix and Hulu. Guest bedroom also has classic Nintendo with three controllers for some throwback fun! Children’s books are located in the guest bedroom bookcase.
Each bedroom has a luggage rack. A laundry basket and humidifier are available in the guest bedroom closet.
Kitchen features a number of appliances/cookware items. We have a Keurig Coffee Maker, hot water kettle, traditional coffee maker, coffee grinder, and a selection of Keurig coffee pods, hot chocolate, teas, sugar and creamer. Our kitchen also includes stainless steel pots & pans, a smart toaster, cookie sheets & baking pans, as well as a wide selection of utensils/steak/cooking knives.
Outdoor area features a semi-fenced backyard (please exercise caution with your pets as we do have a lot of wildlife here in Big Bear!), in addition to a 5-person jacuzzi located just off the wrap-around deck. Each bedroom opens onto a balcony, perfect to enjoy a morning cup of coffee. Property also includes a two burner propane gas grill for BBQing fun. Outdoor dining seating and table available in addition to rocking chairs on the decks for your enjoyment and comfort.
We are a half-mile drive to the ski shuttle to Bear Mountain where you can ski, snowboard, or catch an awesome concert. The cabin is a short drive to Snow Summit. Across the street from the shuttle is Moonridge’s new Alpine Zoo. A short drive also takes you to Bear Mountain Golf Course. This is an upscale neighborhood that is the hidden gem of Big Bear Lake with a ton of areas for free sledding and trails for hiking and biking. It is the perfect location without the crowds but close enough to be within a short distance of every major attraction in Big Bear Lake.
Bike rentals are a mile and a half away.
Ski shuttle to Bear Mountain is a half mile from our cabin.
*220 Volt 15-40 NEMA outlet available for electric vehicle charging. Guests must bring their own charging cable/adapter.
*Note: bedrooms are located upstairs in a lofted, open-floor plan. Bedrooms do not have doors, but we provide a curtain which may be drawn for privacy in the guest room. Top of the stairs features a lockable mesh gate for kiddos and/or dogs.
*Pet Friendly with a $40 pet fee per dog. We allow up to (2) dogs. Sorry, we do not accept cats.
*4 person occupancy with a 2 car max strictly enforced.
Parking: The City of Big Bear limits Parking to a maximum of 2 vehicles for the house. No Street Parking is allowed in any residential neighborhood.
Village distance: 13 minutes away from the home.
Slope distances: Snow Summit is 10 minutes away from the home. Bear Mountain Ski Resort is 5 minutes away from the home.
We have high chairs and pack n plays available at our office for rent for a fee of $25 per day for each or as a packaged deal, please notify us in advance if you would like to rent these during your stay.
