Rainbow Ridge
A luxe hideaway among the redwoods on the Northern California Coast, this mid-century retreat exudes warmth and comfort in truly magical surroundings. Rainbow Ridge is a haven for beachcombing, hiking, taking long scenic drives, and finding the utmost in peace and relaxation.
This single-story home sits on over a third of an acre on the sunny Gualala ridge, nestled among fragrant redwoods just above town. The house is right across the road from the Redwood Coast Recreation Center Disc Golf Course, and only two miles from Gualala’s charming markets, cafes, and art galleries. Anchor Bay, the Sea Ranch Golf Links, and Gualala Point Regional Park (a marvelous spot for whale watching) are all within a five-mile drive as well.
Inspired by Joseph Eichler’s open, airy designs and close connection to nature, this home was thoughtfully restored in 2022 to revive its mid-century character. A rear wall of windows overlooks the gardens and grove, and sliding glass doors connect to the expansive deck, where you can sip your coffee in the mornings, barbecue in the afternoons, and listen to the sounds of the woods at night.
The interior living spaces are cozy and inviting, including a great room warmed by a woodstove, an elegant kitchen outfitted with stainless steel appliances, and a dining area with a smart TV mounted to one wall. If you’re hoping to get a bit of writing done, a light-filled office and complimentary WiFi are provided as well. Of the two serene bedrooms, one is a primary suite with its own bathroom.
