A stylish and exemplary villa based in Duoro, Casa Rei Douro offers sublime levels of luxury. As you approach the exterior of this property, you will be taken aback by the awe-inspiring views that span as far as the eye can see. Guests can enjoy the gorgeous swimming pool, filled to the brim with crystal-clear water; it’s the perfect spot for unwinding after a day spent exploring everything this region has to offer. Inside, the living room offers a warm and cosy space for debriefing the activities of the day, and with a TV and fireplace, it couldn’t feel more homey. At meal times, the ornate dining room is perfect for spending time together whilst enjoying delicious meals cooked in the well-equipped and spacious kitchen. There is a guest toilet next to the dining room for convenience.
The ground floor also hosts three lovely bedrooms. The first and second bedrooms both contain spacious king-sized beds, whilst the remaining bedroom contains a pair of single beds. Travelling upstairs, you’ll find a brilliant games rooms with chess and a whole range of books to choose from. There is a also a well appointed gym, and three more gorgeous bedrooms. The first and second bedrooms are joined, with a shared en-suite bathroom, making them perfect for a family. The third room is a twin bedroom. The house is available to rent as either a 10 or 12 person occupancy.

Location:
The local village of Pinhão is only one kilometre away, or a 5 minute drive, and is packed full of cafes, bars and restaurants, along with a wine shop and a grocery store. It’s a charming little village; perched right on the river, it’s the perfect place for mornings spent picking up a pastry or a coffee and taking in the stunning landscape. Be sure to stop by the old railway station whilst you’re there - it’s traditional decoration with azulejo tiles is not to be missed!
Duoro is a truly outstanding region and offers an abundance of attractions for guests to discover. Quinta do Panascal is one of the most iconic wineries in the area and can be found less than half an hour away from the house. This establishment was first founded in 1992 and has continued to attract visitors who are looking to discover more about the complex world of wine production. Guests can embark on a detailed self-guided tour, where they will have the chance to marvel at the traditional wine-making practices, and then taste a range of port wines. The Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Remedies is less than an hour away and is one of the most significant religious landmarks throughout Duoro; a must-see attraction for any adventurous traveller. This remarkable building is the national monument of the city of Lamego and is based at the very top of Mount St Stephen. Visitors must climb at least 600 steps in order to explore every aspect of this outstanding landmark. Once inside, you can gain a better understanding of Duoro’s rich catholic history and roots. If you are visiting this region in September, you must partake in the incredible Vindima program. During this riveting event, guests will be asked to squash fresh grapes with their bare feet as a way to aid in the production of local wine. Although this may seem like an unconventional approach, it is a common practice seen throughout Portugal. Visitors now have the chance to dive into this vibrant culture and blend in with the native population. This activity is carried out by Quinta do Infantado, a grand estate located less than 20 minutes drive from the house. This estate also allows guests to allow enjoy a collection of wine-tasting excursions, allowing them to try some of their own creations.
