Built in 1959 and designed by famous desert architect Donald Wexler, this 2900 square foot custom home has been beautifully updated by professional designer Christopher Kennedy. Highlights include lots of original midcentury desert modern architectural features, a sparkling blue swimming pool, detached spa, outdoor kitchen and fire pit, large Living Room, plus Sun Room with walls of glass facing the pool and fabulous mountain views, brand new Kitchen with a huge island, and plenty space for everyone. There are 3 generous bedrooms, 2 of them ensuite Masters with private bathrooms, and the third with a guest bathroom immediately adjacent.
The entryway is a work of art in itself, with a privacy gate from the front walk protecting the entrance corridor, which is surrounded by walls of glass. Pass through the glass front door and you’re welcomed by the spacious open floor plan that makes this house so perfect for a group of friends who want to spend time together.
The Living Room features an original rock wall fireplace, huge HDTV, sectional sofa and plenty of seating for everyone to gather and watch the game or movies. Adjacent to that is the Dining Area with seating for eight friends, and the completely remodeled open Kitchen, with an oversized island for easy food prep or presentation. On the other side of the fireplace is a spacious game room that is completely surrounded by walls of glass looking out to the back yard, pool and mountain view.
The three comfortable Bedrooms are perfectly separated at opposite corners of the house for maximum privacy. The North Master Bedroom features a King size bed, HDTV, private patio and huge bathroom with dual sink vanity, walk-in closet and spacious open walk-in shower. At the opposite end of the house are the second Master Suite with King size bed, HDTV, private bathroom and glass slider access to the back yard, near the fire pit. The third Bedroom, with King bed and HDTV, is at the other end of the hall after the Guest Bathroom, which also has a door to the back yard, so it doubles as a pool bathroom.
Speaking of the pool, you’re really going to enjoy the private back yard, featuring an updated sparkling blue swimming pool, detached spa tub, fire pit for conversation and cocktails on chilly desert evenings, and an awesome outdoor Kitchen with dining table. And all of this is surrounded by gorgeous mountain views!
With an excellent Movie Colony location, which is walking distance to down Palm Springs shops and restaurants, and all this pedigreed midcentury style, The Cascades is an awesome Palm Springs vacation home.
