Whether for a short break or an extended holiday, every day at Parco del Principe promises a new discovery. It is the perfect venue for a vacation, for reunions with family and friends, for important private meetings, or for joyous and unique wedding celebrations.
As you immerse yourself in the natural beauty of some of Italy’s most famous landscapes, you will quickly feel that Parco del Principe could easily become your ideal "Home Away from Home."
Parco del Principe is a meticulously restored neo-gothic villa, structured on three levels. Founded in 2001 by Astrid Schiller Wirth, this property represents her latest design project, where her great eye for detail, creative passion, and inimitable style is palpable throughout.
Astrid has masterfully infused the estate with a poetic soul, creating a place of authentic charm. Her renowned portfolio includes the refurbishment of Rome’s Hotel Hassler—designing the entirely new Eva Salon and the famous rooftop restaurant, Imàgo—as well as ’The International Wine Academy of Rome’ (Il Palazzetto) at the top of the Spanish Steps, both owned and managed by her husband, Roberto Wirth.
Each room in the villa has been individually designed by Astrid Schiller Wirth. With meticulous care and attention to detail, she has crafted a distinctive look that begins with a classic Tuscan style, tastefully fused with a contemporary concept in country decor.
All guest rooms are equipped with modern facilities and feature private marble bathrooms with bathtubs and separate toilets. Rich wooden floors add warmth and richness, creating an ambiance of exclusive comfort and luxury. From the brightest rooms to the boldest in red, your experience here will be unforgettable.
Large windows open onto the surrounding grounds and suggestive horizons, while the chirping birds in the park enhance your newfound sense of peace and tranquillity. There is no need to look further: your Tuscan Eden is here.
* The noble first floor hosts four bedrooms, including the Honeymoon Suite.
* The upper floor features a private apartment that can be added to your booking, comprising three additional rooms, including a new Master Suite.
Romantic and sophisticated, the Honeymoon Suite is the most prized retreat at Parco del Principe. Its unique flair blends country-style decor with contemporary accents.
The master bedroom features a majestic four-poster bed, where a light-hearted statue of Cupid plays with the white curtains, as if hiding the bride as she prepares for a perfect evening. A delightful dressing table and a large walk-in closet for the bride’s trousseau completes the romantic setting.
From the bed, the dreamy view focuses on a grand bathtub, perfectly centred in the adjacent room, allowing you to gaze out of a large window while you bathe. This open-space bathroom includes two separate marble sinks, a separate toilet area, and a large walk-in shower with inlaid mosaic in black Marquina marble.
The suite’s peaceful atmosphere is enhanced by a separate lounge, which connects to a private terrace overlooking the Park, the rolling hills, and olive groves. This charming open-air loggia is the perfect setting for a private breakfast, lunch, or dinner, or for a memorable sunset toast for two with Italian sparkling wine or a rare Tuscan red.
A new addition to the estate is the Pool Bar, situated beside the swimming pool. Here, guests can enjoy informal lunches, cocktails, and aperitivos while immersed in the serene quiet of the park.
NB. From the garden and the swimming pool you can occasionally hear some noise of the road that connects Chiusi and Chianciano Terme. Inside the park, separate from the Villa, there is a small farmhouse where the housekeeper lives.

About the area
Cortona, a charming hilltop town in the province of Arezzo in Tuscany, Italy, is a destination that captivates with its rich history, stunning views, and cultural depth. Perched on a hill overlooking the Val di Chiana, Cortona offers a picturesque setting that has inspired artists, writers, and travelers for centuries.
The town's origins date back to Etruscan times, and its ancient walls still stand as a testament to its storied past. Visitors can explore the Etruscan Academy Museum, which houses an impressive collection of artifacts from the Etruscan, Roman, and Egyptian civilizations. The Diocesan Museum is another cultural treasure, home to significant works of art, including the famous Annunciation by Fra Angelico.
Cortona's medieval architecture is a delight to explore, with narrow cobblestone streets leading to hidden squares and beautiful churches. The town's centerpiece is the Piazza della Repubblica, where the Palazzo Comunale (Town Hall) stands with its impressive clock tower. The Santa Margherita Sanctuary, perched at the highest point of the town, offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and Lake Trasimeno.
For those interested in literature and film, Cortona gained fame as the setting for the book and movie "Under the Tuscan Sun." Fans can visit locations featured in the story and experience the romantic allure that drew the author, Frances Mayes, to this enchanting town.
Cortona is also a haven for food lovers, offering a taste of authentic Tuscan cuisine. Local specialties include pici pasta, Chianina beef, and the prized white truffles that grow in the region. The town's weekly market is a great place to sample local cheeses, cured meats, and other regional products.
The surrounding countryside is dotted with vineyards and olive groves, making Cortona an excellent base for wine tasting tours and culinary excursions. The nearby wineries produce some of Tuscany's finest wines, including the renowned Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and Chianti.
Throughout the year, Cortona hosts a variety of events and festivals, such as the Cortona On The Move photography festival, the Cortona Mix Festival of music and art, and the Tuscan Sun Festival, which celebrates the region's culture, food, and wine.
In essence, Cortona is a treasure trove of history, art, and gastronomy, offering a quintessentially Tuscan experience that is both enriching and unforgettable. Whether you're seeking a romantic getaway, a cultural journey, or a culinary adventure, Cortona is a destination that truly has something for everyone.
