Nestled atop the slopes above the Tualatin River resides one of the more unique and special escapes the region has to offer. Please note this location sits on a piece of property where there is another two bedroom retreat (The Cedars at Rivers Edge), a long term residence, and even a small business office above. While any of the locations you stay at, your privacy is completely respected, however there may be other activity in the area including at the incredible shared areas such as the oversized hanging iron fire-pit or the meandering stairs leading to the property’s Tualatin River dock. Due to the geographical setting, we do ask that there are not kids under 12 as the drop-off to the river below could be quite hazardous for kiddos.
Marv’s Place is a fantastic one bedroom retreat. Every aspect has been renovated, upgraded, and furnished to create that perfect blend of comfort and style. One epic feature is the 275 square foot outdoor covered patio / living space. It boasts an enormous fire table and outdoor seating. The huge TV is perfect for streaming while taking in the sights and sounds of this incredible property. There is also a built in BBQ for all your grilling desires.
Back inside, you’ll find a fully stocked kitchen and cozy living area. The bedroom area has a TV as well when you are ready to wind down the day. After a night of restful sleep, take your time and relax and recharge in the huge bathroom with walk-in shower. The washer and dryer is there as well if you need.
As you will see in the center of the courtyard area, sits a large fire-pit, which is a shared community space with the other two bedroom guest home. The entire space is surrounded by trees and the Tualatin River sits just a short walk beyond and down the ramp to the floating dock. Also as we mentioned earlier there is a small office above Marv’s Place so people may come and go throughout the day. There is ample parking available for guests on the property as well. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions at all.
Special notes:
Please refer to the overhead photos about the layout and where parking is.
PET FRIENDLY: **There is a $50 pet fee per pet with a maximum of $150 (3 pets). Although we are pet-friendly please note your pet must not be left unattended at the house without you present, even if in a crate/kennel. Failure to adhere to the house rules as it pertains to pets may result in cancellation of the booking with no refund. **
Pets must remain on a leash at all times when outside on the property.

About the area
Oregon City, Oregon, is a destination steeped in history and natural beauty, offering a unique blend of cultural heritage and outdoor adventure. As the first city in the United States west of the Rocky Mountains to be incorporated, it is a place where the past is palpably present, and visitors can immerse themselves in the pioneering spirit that shaped the Pacific Northwest.
The city's most iconic landmark is the End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center, where travelers can learn about the lives of the early settlers who journeyed along the Oregon Trail. Interactive exhibits and living history demonstrations provide a vivid glimpse into the challenges and triumphs of these intrepid pioneers.
Another historical highlight is the McLoughlin House, part of the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site, which was the home of Dr. John McLoughlin, known as the "Father of Oregon." The house offers a window into the 19th-century life and the significant role McLoughlin played in the region's development.
For those drawn to natural wonders, Oregon City does not disappoint. The Willamette Falls, the second largest waterfall by volume in the United States, is a spectacular sight. Visitors can take in the falls from various viewpoints, and plans for a public riverwalk promise even greater access to this natural marvel.
Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to do, from kayaking on the Willamette River to hiking and biking the numerous trails that surround the city. The Clackamette Park, where the Clackamas and Willamette rivers meet, is a popular spot for picnicking, fishing, and simply enjoying the scenic beauty.
Oregon City also boasts a vibrant downtown area, with a growing number of shops, restaurants, and breweries that reflect the city's creative and entrepreneurial spirit. The Municipal Elevator, another unique feature, offers a quick ride to a viewing platform with panoramic views of the city and the surrounding landscape.
Cultural events, such as the Oregon City Festival of the Arts and weekly farmers markets, add to the city's charm and provide visitors with opportunities to engage with the local community.
In essence, Oregon City is a destination that honors its rich history while embracing the vitality of the present. It's a place where the stories of the past are interwoven with the natural splendor and community life of today, making it a compelling stop for travelers seeking a multifaceted experience.
