This absolutely amazing five-bedroom Government Camp vacation rental has something for everyone in your whole group as it offers a private hot tub, high-end amenities like a home theater, and is within walking distance to the lifts at Mt. Hood Skibowl! This ultimate lodge comfortably sleeps 12 guests making it the ideal getaway for extended family reunions or corporate retreats!
It is perfectly located less than a block from the Mt. Hood Cultural Center & Museum and within walking distance to family-friendly eateries. In winter, you’re within 12 miles of three popular ski resorts including Mt. Hood Skibowl, Timberline Lodge, and Mt. Hood Meadows.
Inside is simply breathtaking. You’ll enjoy unique accents like tree limb stair railings and handmade artisan tile in the kitchen. The main floor’s tall, cathedral, wood beam ceilings will make you feel like you are in your own private ski lodge. This great room has space for everyone to gather and socialize.
The floor-to-ceiling fireplace has a custom concrete hearth - you’ll definitely stay nice and cozy here as you enjoy the views of Mt. Hood Skibowl right from the windows. Take a seat on the sectional sofa while you sip hot cocoa, listen to music on the stereo, and make plans for the following day.
In total, SnoPlace offers an impressive three full baths and five bedrooms, plus a loft to easily accommodate 12 guests.
The large dining room table has spots for 12, with more seats right at the breakfast bar. And because this space has an open floor plan, you can still enjoy the fireplace while eating dinner or even putting dishes away.
When it is time to use the kitchen, the chef in your group will delight in the local artist-made custom tile, beautiful cabinetry, and spacious butcher block counters. Additionally, there are gadgets for just about every culinary undertaking - an espresso maker, mixer, blender, slow cooker, French press, coffee grinder, and a toaster. If you need to look something up online, you’ll have WiFi access throughout the home.
This main level also has two primary bedrooms - one with a double bed, while the other has a queen, and beautiful decorative touches like snowshoe decorations and timber post bed frames. The additional three bedrooms and the loft sleeping area are located upstairs. Here, you’ll have two queen beds, three twins, and two futons.
In the evenings, you’ll want to make your way down to the bottom floor to the home theater room. This space has a wood stove, TV, DVD library, Netflix streaming, and lots of seating. There’s a wet bar with concrete counters with inlaid snowflake designs and a foosball table for the kids. The floors are even heated cement in case you forget your slippers up in your bedroom!
Descending downstairs, you’ll have access to the backyard, a ski tuning room, a mud room for hanging up wet clothing to dry, and a laundry room. All of the comforts of home, and then some! Out on the deck of this Mt. Hood vacation rental, there’s a gas grill and a relaxing outdoor hot tub. Have a barbecue in nice weather and a soak in the tub, no matter what the season. Just sit back and enjoy the stunning mountain views as the bubbling water works on those sore muscles.
This prime Government Camp location will allow you to easily walk to town and visit restaurants like the Glacier Haus Bistro for pints of beer and Hungarian goulash, or pick up a to-go pizza at The Ratskeller and enjoy it back at home in front of that great room fireplace. You can also head to Govy General Store for basic supplies and even a rotisserie chicken and some spirits from an Oregon craft distillery.
When it’s time to head down the mountain on your skis or snowboard, Mt. Hood Meadows is 11 miles away, Timberline Lodge is just under six miles to the northeast, while Mt. Hood Skibowl is only a mile up the road. This location is also ideal for other winter sports like snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing.
In summer, the mountains are alive with wildflowers, as well as hiking and biking trails! There are nearby rivers for fishing or take a scenic chair lift ride up the mountain at Timberline Lodge.
This property includes a noise alert monitoring system in order to ensure that neighborhood noise levels are respected. Again, please realize we want every group to enjoy their time, laugh, have fun and make memories. These devices are only to ensure noise levels don’t reach a threshold that bothers our neighbors. Also, please note there is no electronic video surveillance monitoring pools or spas, or on the interior of the house.
