Escape the pressures and hassles of life at Rockcliff Retreat! Perfectly nestled amid natural forestry and shrubs, with stunning views of the John’s River Gorge and Grandfather Mountain from all three levels and both decks, and top-of-the-line furnishings and fixtures, this is the perfect place to rest your body and renew your mind yet still feel connected, with the convenience of newly installed Starlink hi-speed internet.
As you enter the main level, the stone fountain set into the wall greets you with soothing water ambient noises. The kitchen, fully equipped with all the cooking items you will need, has a stone flooring and beautifully detailed stone tilework on the walls around the granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. The elegant solid wood dining table with four chairs and a bench plus four extra stools as well as three stools at the kitchen bar provide plenty of dining space. Access to the attached garage is through the kitchen, and the 2-bay garage has one bay for guest parking and one set up with a ping-pong table.
The living room, decorated with modern contemporary touches, has a 20-foot high stone gas log fireplace, windows soaring to the cathedral ceiling, magnificent long- and short-range views, and a 65" smart Tv.
There are two bedrooms and a bathroom on the main level, as well. Both bedroom’s have queen beds. The full bathroom has a stone tiled tub/shower, stone flooring, and detailed stone tilework around the sink.
Downstairs is a second living room, with a 55-Inch flat panel TV with Blu-Ray player, a fireplace with woodstove, a Queen-sized sleeper sofa, a shelf of games, air hockey table, and 3 doors to the lower patio where the swing awaits in perfect privacy. There is also a bedroom with two sets of twin over queen bunks, a full bath with an overhead heat lamp, stone flooring, and a stone tiled tub/shower and sink. Also on this level is a spacious laundry room, with a washer & dryer and ample counter & cabinet space.
Upstairs is a desk which is perfect for writing or stationing your laptop. But of course, this house has wireless internet, so there’s really no need to be confined to a desk. The spacious master suite is on this level, with a King-sized bed, a loveseat, and a large built in wardrobe. The private bathroom has a roomy garden tub and stone tiled shower as well as double granite vanities, heated floor, and heated towel rack.
The main level deck has stunning long-range views. From the lower deck, go downstairs even further to a smaller deck, perfect for stargazing, or a great starting point to explore the surrounding woods with easy to strenuous hiking trails surrounding the property. Sit and contemplate the beauty of the area from the large natural boulders set into the hill. Rhododendron, lilies of all colors, white pine trees, and more all combine for elegantly beautiful natural landscaping that provides total privacy.
With all that this lovely home has to offer, you may not want to leave this haven. But when you do, you will be pleasantly surprised to find that it is only 10 minutes to downtown Blowing Rock, 15 minutes to Appalachian Ski Mountain and Tweetsie Railroad, 20 minutes to Boone, and a short drive to any other High Country attractions. You’re sure to love staying at Rockcliff Retreat!

This home allows up to 2 dogs for an additional rent of $25 per night per pet plus taxes.
Firewood for the wood stove on lower level may be purchased at the time of booking or with one week’s notice. You’ll receive two wrapped bundles and a firestarter for $25/night plus tax.
CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 60+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 31-59 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 30 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
