Welcome to Orchid Cabin, in the charming Valle Crucis community. Enjoy your evenings on the balcony listening to the music from the nearby Mast Farm Inn. Enjoy the playground, paved walking paths, or trout fishing in the Valle Crucis Community Park only half a mile down the road. Next to the park is the famous Mast General Store Annex.
Situated on the hillside, Orchid Cabin has an entrance on the main level and also one directly to the lower level. At the main entrance, you’ll find a small back patio. Inside, the cozy living room focuses on the wood-burning fireplace with sofa and chairs. A TV let’s you watch your favourite show, or just gather around and catch up with friends. The kitchen and dining is nearby with stainless appliances, granite counters, and seating for up to eight.
Three queen bedrooms are on the main level. To one side of the living area is a queen suite with tiled shower. Across the living room are two more queen bedrooms with a jack and jill bath between them. Double vanities offer space for your belongings. There is a narrow spiral staircase with gate leading you downstairs. Pets, little ones, and those with mobility access will want to use caution, but there is a center pole and grab bars to steady oneself all the way down. Once down, you’ll find the lower den with wood stove and a second living space, including a twin bed with twin trundle underneath in the corner. Off of the den are a queen bedroom and a small bonus space with a set of twin over twin bunks. A third full bathroom and laundry center on are on the lower level, as well.
Additional Notes:
- This home allows one dog for an additional rent of $25 per night plus taxes. Pets other than dogs are not permitted.
- AWD/4WD or chains will be needed in times of snow or ice. The driveway is steep, but paved. The last 75yrds before the driveway is a narrow, gravel road. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement.
- Firewood may be purchased at the time of booking or up to a week in advance. You’ll receive two, kiln-dried packs of firewood plus a firestarter for $25 per night plus tax.
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided.
- Check in is after 4pm and Checkout is by 10am
- Please note that the distances shown on OTA’s map feature are measured in a straight line rather than actual road travel distances and times. We cannot change their setting for this, and encourage all guests to independently verify distances to desired destinations.
- Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
- This homeowner uses exterior security cameras. One camera is at the driveway as you pull up to the house and the other on the left side of the home facing away from the hot tub
CANCELLATION POLICY -
Bookings canceled 30+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit.
Bookings canceled between 15-29 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of he deposit.
Bookings canceled within 14 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest.
All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
