Big Bear Escape is a custom built three-bedroom two bath luxury cabin and is just down the road from its smaller counterpart ’Little Bear Escape’. Privately located off the road, it’s perfect for those looking for a getaway surrounded by nature. This luxury cabin offers mountain views and is conveniently located between Boone and Banner Elk with just a short drive to either.
Enter the main level of this spacious home from the parking area up just 6 steps to a large spacious great room which features a large mounted smart TV, floor to ceiling windows and a cozy wood burning fireplace. The open concept layout paired with high ceilings and wall of windows make you feel that you are truly a part of the surrounding forest landscape while offering stunning year-round views of Grandfather Mountain.
Across from the great room is the dining area with comfortable seating for 4 and the fully equipped kitchen featuring a custom built island with barstools for two, stainless steel appliances, soft-closing cabinets and high quality silverware, knives, and cookware.
Down the hall toward the east side of the main level is a laundry room with custom cabinetry and a stacked front-loading washer and dryer. Across from the laundry room is a full bathroom with a walk-in shower. At the end of the hall is a full bathroom with a custom tiled shower, and the entrance to a spacious bedroom. This suite features a king bed with hotel quality sheets and a forested view.
Just steps away down the hall is the master suite with a king bed, large windows and an ensuite master bath. This master bath features a stunning double vanity, custom tile work and a glass encased walk in shower. Truly spa like.
Upstairs is a loft reading nook located just outside a bedroom featuring two twins, a large TV and cozy beanbag seating! Perfect for the kids to get cozy in a space of their own.
Outside is a large floating deck equipped outdoor dining table, large sectional sofa, grill and a hot tub where you can enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature and enjoy the views of the mountains and sunsets. For those traveling with a larger group and need additional accommodations, Little Bear Escape is located on the same road and is approximately 100 yards away.
Additional Notes:
-This home allows up to 4 mature, well-trained dogs with an additional pet rent of $25 per pet per night plus tax. Pets other than dogs are not permitted.
-Check In is after 4pm. Check Out is by 10am.
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided
- Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement.
- Firewood may be purchased at the time of booking, or by calling us with a week’s notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a firestarter for $25 plus tax.
- Big Bear Escape has parking space for up to 3-4 vehicles.
- This homeowner uses one exterior security camera to monitor their home and ensure it remains safe. It is a Ring doorbell camera mounted by the front door, facing out to the parking area.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Bookings canceled within 24 hours of their creation will receive a full refund of payments. Bookings canceled more than 24 hours after their creation are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
