Welcome to Frankie!
Located in the peaceful hamlet of Skenes Creek, perched amongst the gum trees, Frankie is a much loved family home. A wonderful place to escape the city, it has the best of the bush and the beach. You’ll experience beautiful bird life, native animals and a relaxing family experience.
Located over 2 levels, the home is nestled into a beautiful un-fenced garden & backyard along with downstairs bedroom with double bunks, and bathroom/laundry. Upstairs opens up into a bright living/dining/kitchen area, with the generous, undercover deck, making it feel like you’re up amongst the trees.
With a fully fitted out kitchen, you can cook to your heart’s content, play boardgames, relax with a book, or sit out on the deck taking in the trees, the birds and, if you’re lucky, our local (sometimes very loud) koala.
It’s a short 10 minute drive from the main township of Apollo Bay (or a wonderful long walk along the beach at low tide), and a 5-10 minute walk down the hill or 2 minute drive to the Skenes Creek main beach.

About the area
Apollo Bay, a serene coastal town along the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia, is a destination that offers a harmonious blend of natural beauty, outdoor adventure, and local charm. This picturesque enclave is nestled between the lush Otway Ranges and the expansive Southern Ocean, providing a stunning backdrop for a variety of activities.
One of the town's primary attractions is its proximity to the Great Ocean Road itself, one of the world's most scenic coastal drives. Travelers can embark on a journey along this iconic route, taking in dramatic cliffs, sweeping beaches, and the famous Twelve Apostles limestone stacks that rise majestically from the ocean.
Apollo Bay serves as a gateway to the Great Otway National Park, where visitors can explore ancient rainforests, discover cascading waterfalls like Triplet Falls, and wander through fern gullies and towering eucalyptus trees. The park is also home to a rich array of wildlife, including koalas, kangaroos, and a variety of bird species, making it a haven for nature enthusiasts and wildlife photographers.
The town's main beach, Apollo Bay Beach, is a pristine stretch of sand perfect for swimming, surfing, and sunbathing. The waters are ideal for families, with gentle waves and clear blue seas. For those seeking more adventure, the surf can provide exhilarating challenges for more experienced surfers.
Apollo Bay's culinary scene is a reflection of its coastal setting, with fresh seafood taking center stage. Local restaurants and cafes serve up delectable dishes featuring the catch of the day, often paired with produce sourced from the surrounding regions. The Apollo Bay Seafood Festival is an annual event that celebrates the town's maritime heritage and offers visitors a taste of the freshest local flavors.
The town also hosts a vibrant market every Saturday, where artisans and farmers from the region showcase their crafts, organic produce, and gourmet treats. This market is a great place to mingle with locals and experience the community's friendly spirit.
For those looking to relax, Apollo Bay offers a tranquil environment where the pace of life slows down. The sound of the ocean, the fresh sea air, and the stunning natural surroundings provide the perfect setting for a rejuvenating getaway.
In essence, Apollo Bay is a destination that offers something for everyone, from breathtaking landscapes and outdoor adventures to culinary delights and a peaceful coastal atmosphere. It's a place where the wonders of nature are always within reach, and the welcome is as warm as the sun that graces its shores.
