Jontys Cottage

Jontys is a well converted barn, originally a sawmill for local cartwrights and joiners when the village provided gunpowder for the local slate mines, and now the ground floor of two well appointed apartments in this fabulous Langdale village. Located in the picturesque village of Elterwater, this cottage has been a long time favourite for walkers enjoying Loughrigg Fell from the doorstep, The Langdale Pikes, or just gentle strolls along the beck or over to Grasmere for gingerbread teas.  There is outside seating to soak up the sun and enjoy the views, or snuggle up in front of the wood burning stove inside and relax after a day exploring. From Jonty’s lounge, sit back and relax in front of the wood burning stove, and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Lake District fells, and let stress melt away. Jonty’s cottage blends traditional Lake District charm with modern contemporary comfort. Private off-road parking is available onsite and we welcome up to two well behaved dogs. Elterwater is a charming village in the heart of Langdale and the Lake District. The Britannia Inn is a welcoming local family pub and one of the most famous Lakeland pubs. For a more formal dining treat, the Eltermere Inn Hotel is only a short stroll away. The local village shop in Chapel Stile is less than a mile away and very well equipped for all your needs.
