La Leopoldina is a classic example of rural land reform carried out in by the Grand Duke Leopold II and was restored in full respect for its original style and with the same care in selecting materials and colors.
La Leopoldina is situated near to San Donato in Collina, only 14 km from Florence, well connected to many art sites, and is surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and forest trees: an ideal place for a restful and cultural holiday. The villa is entirely equipped with ecological, sustainable energy sources, as solar cells for electricity and geothermic system for heating and refreshment of air.
Fitness House (available only from May 01 to September 30): this area is located in a separate building, about 100 meters from the villa, and consists of a hot tub, sauna, and some gym equipment. It must be booked in advance and the additional cost is €150 per day + €100 final cleaning fee.
ACCOMODATION: La Leopoldina can comfortably accomodate 15 persons (4 in the adjacent dependence) in luxurious comfort. Please note: Refreshment of air produced by geothermal energy. That means that the air will be refreshed circa 10-12 degrees lower than the outside temperature. E.g., outside is 30 °C / in the house about 19-20 °C
The main villa is divided in two floors: on the ground floor there are a large living/dining room with direct access to a terrace with spectacular views, breakfast room and professional kitchen. On the same floor there are one double bedroom (or two single beds, on request) with ensuite bathroom with shower (equipped for disabled person), and a single bedroom with half bathroom next door.
On the first floor there are a king size bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower, a king size bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower and bathtub, a double bedroom (or two single beds, on request) with ensuite bathroom with shower and a bouble bedroom (or two single beds, on request) with ensuite bathroom with shower and bathtub.
A music room/office will welcome you in the former pigeonry with 360 degrees view.
Adjacent the Villa there is a dependence (60 mq) with sitting room with kitchenette (and fireplace), king size bedroom (or two single beds, on request) with ensuite bathroom with bathtub and double bedroom (or two single beds, on request) with ensuite bathroom with shower. THE DEPENDANCE IS ONLY RENTED TOGETHER WITH THE VILLA.
GARDEN & SWIMMING POOL: The swimming pool (6 x 12 and deep from 1,20 to 2,80 meters) is open from April to October. For children safety the pool has been completely fenced with a wooden railing and a gate. In the pool area there is a full bathroom with shower is available for the guests.
The area around the villa is arranged as a country garden, including centuries old olive trees. A beautiful BBQ covered area is equipped with table and chairs to eat outside.
