Home details
Villa Coo sits poised on the outskirts of the charming village of Ventabren, overlooking the pretty local mill. A tranquil and romantic place full of charm and character, Villa Coo offers a beautifully renovated, home away from home, with ample space for fifteen guests.
Through the renovations the owners have been careful to keep authentic elements and antiques that speak to the building’s past, weaving history and culture through every room. This, combined with the stylish art deco furniture and contemporary styles make each space feel unique with quirks that oose a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
There are two buildings that make up this charming holiday location, with the main house and a separate cottage. The main house can accommodate up to twelve guests, with a further four guests in the cottage.
From the moment you open the front door to the main house, soft tones and colourful decorations guide your eyes around the living space. On the ground floor, there is an open plan kitchen and dining room with a modern feel. Next door the living room has a cosier and more intimate ambience with a roaring fire through the colder months. The first floor boasts two double bedrooms, with a beautiful bathroom finished in white waxed concrete and a smaller shower room. The attic offers three further bedrooms, the first a double with a green waxed concrete shower. The second is furnished with a double and a single bed and a small terracotta waxed concrete bathroom. Finally, the kids’ games room boasts two single trundle beds, that siblings will love to share!
Stepping into the cottage there is a large open-plan living area with a well-equipped kitchen, lounge, and dining area. A striking 360-degree fireplace is the centrepiece of this welcoming room, perfect for spring and autumn evenings when you can light the fire and curl up with a book or play a board game. On the ground floor there is one twin bedroom with a black and white shower room. The lovely double bedroom is on the first floor with a beautiful bathroom finished in terracotta waxed concrete.
Outside, the calming nature of the villa continues into an oasis of greenery, a heated swimming pool and shady dining areas. A bastide from 1870, you can picture the history and imagine stories spiralling out of the old hackberry trees.
Described as the golden triangle, Villa Coo places you in the perfect spot for exploring Aix-en-Provence, Marseille and Salon de Provence during your stay. With wine tastings, picturesque beaches, delicious cuisine and historic towns, there are endless opportunities in this beautiful area.

Location:
Described as the golden triangle, Villa Coo places you in the perfect spot for exploring Aix-en-Provence, Marseille and Salon de Provence during your stay. Poised on the outskirts of the charming village of Ventabren, overlooking the pretty local mill, this is a charmed, tranquil place to enjoy all the delights of France from.
Ventabren has a charming, historic centre, with a supermarket, shops and restaurants offering all your daily needs. You can walk or cycle straight into the hills around the village, taking in the views and enjoying the breath-taking scenery on offer.
The coastal lagoon of ’Etang de Berre’ is only a thirty-minute drive away. From the pretty beaches, you can swim, enjoy water sports, and soak the summer sun, fully relaxing on the seafront. The summer months bring life and vibrancy to the seaside towns, with various festivals, markets and events. We would recommend the towns of Martigues, Istres and Saint-Chamas, all of which are worth visiting during your stay.
The beaches within Calanques National Park are also renowned, just a one-hour drive away from Villa Coo. A Calanques is a tucked away cove which seem to be dramatically cut out of the limestone cliffs. There are a series of these coves, some easier to access than others. The easiest way to visit is by taking a boat from Cassis harbour which takes around 30-minutes to get to the first stop. If you prefer to hike then you can walk to the striking Calanque d’En Vau in around an hour from Port Mio, the view as you approach the cove is well worth the walk!
Inland, Aix-en-Provence is a vibrant city, alive with historical sights, museums, markets and restaurants, providing you with plenty of cultural and Provencal encounters. The city and surrounding countryside were the inspiration for numerous artists including Renoir, Cezanne and Picasso who drew on the beauty of this region through their artforms. Aix-en-Provence offers all the good of Provence in one place: great food, good wine, French boutiques, near the mountains, sea and within driving distance of the pretty lavender fields.
