Black Diamond Lodge
Black Diamond, a spacious, 3,600-square-foot, custom log cabin, is a vacationer’s dream. This five-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bathroom home is only half a mile from Terry Peak Ski Area and adjacent to Black Hills National Forest, providing you with easy access to hiking and ATV trails.
You’ll feel spoiled with granite on all top surfaces, stainless steel appliances in the kitchen (with a pantry), and custom log trim throughout the cabin. Admire the spectacular view as you grill on the upper deck or soak in the eight-person hot tub on the lower deck. Unwind around two gorgeous fireplaces, whether you’re reading a book quietly on the main level or playing PS3 on the big-screen TV downstairs.
With two full-size dishwashers and two full-size refrigerators, Black Diamond can certainly handle a large group. The game room on the lower level has something for everyone as well, from a Thomas the Train table to foosball, darts, and board games.
All five bedrooms include upscale furnishings, ceiling fans, and Denver mattresses. Two of the bedrooms are primary suites, each with a TV and a private bathroom. The main-level primary suite has a whirlpool tub and a separate shower while the second primary suite boasts an oversize walk-in shower with a waterfall showerhead cascading from the ceiling.

Once a booming mining town, Lead has transformed into a place where the past and the future coexist, providing visitors with a multifaceted experience.
The town's rich mining heritage is on full display at the Black Hills Mining Museum, where interactive exhibits and guided tours of a simulated mine offer insights into the lives of the miners and the gold rush that shaped the region. The Homestake Mine, once the largest and deepest gold mine in North America, now houses the Sanford Underground Research Facility, a cutting-edge science lab where visitors can learn about physics and the cosmos through engaging exhibits.

The area is crisscrossed with trails for hiking, mountain biking, and snowmobiling, offering breathtaking views and encounters with local wildlife. Nearby Spearfish Canyon is a marvel with its towering limestone cliffs, cascading waterfalls, and vibrant autumn foliage.
In the winter, Lead becomes a snowy haven for skiers and snowboarders, with the Terry Peak Ski Area providing a variety of runs for all skill levels. The high elevation and the reliable snowfall make it one of the premier winter sports destinations in the region.
Cultural experiences abound in Lead as well. The Historic Homestake Opera House, originally built by the Homestake Mining Company for its employees, now hosts a variety of performances, from plays to concerts, enriching the town's artistic landscape.

Lead's dining scene, though modest, offers a taste of local flavors with a selection of restaurants and cafes that serve up hearty meals, perfect after a day of exploration. The town also hosts events throughout the year, such as the Lead Mountain Nights music series, which brings the community together to celebrate with live music and entertainment.
