Welcome to Hale Luana, the house of comfort and relaxation. This grand home is so comfortable you will not want to leave. Located just south of famed Honoka’a on the historic Hamakua Coast and close to Waipio Valley, Waimea, waterfalls, quaint shopping spots and ocean adventure areas.

Our on-site (located in a downstairs detached dwelling) caretakers are available for guests who would like a greeting and orientation to the estate and are readily available to assist you during your stay. Parents please be aware that the property is not safe for walking babies, toddlers or small children because of many unprotected stairs, high-end and breakable decor. We welcome older children and infants (equipment is provided including a port-a-crib, high chair, pack’n’play and infant gym).

Payment & Cancellation - 30 Day Policy
Grace Period:
- Guests may cancel for free provided that: (1) reservation is canceled within 48-hours of reservation confirmation, and (2) reservation was confirmed at least 11 days before scheduled arrival.
Payment Policy:
- 30 days or less prior to arrival: Guests pay 100% at time of reservation.
- More than 30 days before arrival: Guests pay 50% at time of reservation, the remaining 50% will be charged 30 days prior to arrival.
- For guests paying with Points or Cash & Points: 100% of payment of both Cash & Points will be deducted at time of reservation, once booking is verified within 48 hours.
Cancellation Policy:
- 30 days or less prior to arrival: No refund issued, unless ‘Grace Period’ applies.
- More than 30 days before arrival: 100% refund.
House rules
- This advertised rate is for two guests only. Additional guests are welcome, but an additional guest fee of $40 per person per night will be required.
- 1. Quiet hours shall be from 9pm to 8am, during which time the noise from the STVR (short-term vacation rental) unit shall not unreasonably disturb adjacent neighbors.
- 2. Sound that is audible beyond the property boundaries during non-quiet hours shall not be more excessive than would be otherwise associated with the residential area.
- 3. Guest vehicles shall be parked in the designated onsite parking area or space.
- 4. The STVR shall not be used for commercial purposes. HOSTED PROPERTIES: In compliance with Hawai'i County Ordinance Number 2018-114, this property is a Hosted Rental Unit wherein the Property Owner has contracted with an onsite Caretaker who resides at the property. The Caretaker may assist with certain duties on the Property but is not an employee of or in any way affiliated with the Property Management Company.
- POOL AND HOT TUB:
- PLEASE read and follow posted rules. No children under 12 years of age are allowed in the hot tub. Pregnant women should use caution when using hot tubs. PLEASE handle the hot tub cover with care and COVER the hot tub immediately after each use to conserve energy! Every guest should rinse off before entering the pool or hot tub to maintain cleanliness. Jets will cycle automatically twice a day for 2 hours and cannot be turned off.
- CAUTION STAINS:
- self-tanning lotions and hair-growth products cause permanent discoloration of fabric. Before you risk ruining furniture or bedding, please wash off these products, thanks!
- BATHROOM TOWELS: are for use inside the house only.
- WASHER AND DRYER:
- Please use it with care. NEVER put sandy towels or shoes in the machines. This can result in damaging the machine. Please make sure the lint trap is cleaned after each dry cycle. Please do NOT sit on bedding or furniture with wet suits and do NOT place towels on the furniture – they stain and cause mildew. DO NOT use bleach in our washer.
- YOUR SAFETY AND SECURITY:
- Pa’auhau is known to be a safe area. Keys are provided should you choose to lock up.
- PARTIES/EVENTS:
- This reservation is for quiet residential vacation use only. Therefore, parties, receptions, luaus, events and gatherings of any size or kind are strictly prohibited unless agreed to in your contract.
