The Glen Cove Sand Spit & Guest Cottage
History, comfort, and outdoor living combine at this Puget Sound paradise. With origins dating back to the 1900s as a steamship landing for the Mosquito Fleet servicing communities throughout the Sound, the property showcases 1,000 feet of private shoreline along Glen Cove. It comes fully equipped with features and amenities to make the most of your time. Comprised of a main house and guest cottage, this is the perfect option for an extended family retreat.
Hunt for shells and scout sand dollars along the beach, launch one of the provided kayaks and SUPs to explore Glen Cove or enjoy a day of lawn games and activities with family and friends. The home offers a variety of games and toys, including a croquet set, corn hole, badminton, and bocce ball, plus a sand volleyball court and equipment. Enjoy a quiet stroll through the on-site apple orchard or a hike through the woods surrounding the property. On rainy days, there’s also a Ping-Pong table for indoor entertainment. After the day’s activities, relax in the private hot tub or gather around the firepit for starlight conversation and S’mores. An outdoor prep kitchen comes equipped with a sink, counter space, fridge, and utensils for alfresco meals, which can be enjoyed at the waterfront picnic/dining area. The prep kitchen is an ideal addition to the barbecue area and is also a convenient space for caterers or hired chefs.
The main house features a bright, single-level layout boasting water views and updated amenities. Enjoy casual downtimes and cozy evenings beside the fireplace in the living room while streaming shows and movies on the smart TV. The kitchen comes well-equipped with all new fixtures and stainless steel appliances for handling home cooking, including a new gas stove, and, when paired with the amenities in the prep kitchen, can accommodate family feasts with ease. The dining room offers seating for six and includes a storyboard with photos depicting the property’s rich history. Three bedrooms can be found in the main house. Primary guests will have access to a private en suite bathroom, and a second, full bathroom is shared between the two other guest rooms. A private washer/dryer can be found in the primary bedroom. An electric vehicle charger is onsite for your convenience, you may need your own adapter.
Located just a short walk up the hill from the main house, the guest cottage features a one-bedroom design and comes well-appointed with standalone comforts, including a full kitchen and dishwasher, and a private deck. Sip morning coffee at home before heading down to join friends and family at the shore or enjoy some quiet time away from group activities and relax in the living area while streaming shows and movies on the smart TV. A private washer/dryer and extra half-bath provide added convenience.
