Lakefront Retreat
Find classic Maine craftsmanship in a gorgeous setting at this lakefront home on the shores of Brandy Pond in Naples. This is summer in Maine at its finest, with 250 feet of lake frontage, a private sandy beach, two spacious docks, and a floating swim platform.
This waterfront home sits on a quiet, protected cove that’s ideal for swimming, playing with young children, paddleboarding, kayaking, and fishing (the area to the left of the beach is one of the better fishing spots in the area). Two single kayaks, a tandem kayak, a paddleboard, boogie boards, and life jackets are even provided for your use. On the surrounding acre and a half of wooded land, you’ll find peace among loons, ducks, geese, and foxes and a bald eagle nest atop the trees to the left of the house. Eaglets are in the nest from late March to July, with adult eagles catching fish by the house for much of the summer.
The home faces east, providing gorgeous views of the sunrise and the shimmering lake from nearly every room, as well as warm morning sun and welcome afternoon shade. Wrapping the lake sides of the house is an expansive screened porch, where you can bring your morning coffee, read in the afternoons, gather for family meals, and set up board games and puzzles with the lapping lake within earshot.
The interior is classic and beautiful, with cozy living spaces, wood paneling throughout, and a kitchen that was thoughtfully remodeled with new appliances in 2020. Spend the evenings streaming movies on the living area TV before retiring to four bedrooms in the main house - one on the first floor, three upstairs, and all with views of the lake and windows on at least two sides. The separate boathouse at the lake’s edge is a bonus, offering perfect sleeping space for kids that’s both private and close to the rest of the family in the main house.
