Tanqueray House is a beautiful holiday home with plenty of charm, and just on the fringes of Whitby town centre. Sleeping up to 4 guests across two delightful bedrooms, all beautifully finished with the comfiest bed linens, the property is perfect for family staycations and getaways with friends. If you’re looking for a self-catering retreat on the coast, look no further than Tanqueray House as a place to retreat from the world, or as a base to explore the glories of one of Yorkshire’s finest seaside towns.
The Space:
Spread across three floors, Tanqueray House has a living room, open plan kitchen and dining area, two bedrooms and one bathroom. Beautifully decorated, there is a charming and homely feel which flows throughout the property.
Head to the living room and you’ll find a truly warming space. With a flat screen TV and a spacious sofa, this is the ideal spot to snuggle up with your loved ones and enjoy a night in front of the box. In keeping with the style of the property, this room has a stylish colour scheme of bright yellows, mellow browns and soothing creams.
The open plan kitchen and dining area is modern throughout. The kitchen boasts light brown cabinets and stylish white shiny tiles. Ideal for self-catering stays, it is fully equipped with everything you should need from an oven and hob to a kettle and toaster. The wooden dining table has a long bench seat which will comfortably seat two guests, as well as two chairs. Perfectly placed, you can socialise, entertain and enjoy meals in this room with the whole house together.
The family bathroom is located on the ground floor which features a bath with a separate cubicle shower, a wash basin and a WC, all in a bright, spacious white room.
Take the stairs up to the first floor and you’ll find the first of Tanqueray House’s two bedrooms. The master bedroom features a comfy king-size bed with crisp white linens and a soft orange throw to create a tranquil atmosphere, with plenty of storage space. You’ll be able to create a cosy feel with the bedside lamps and there is ample storage space for all of your belongings in the large wardrobe and the several draws available to you.
You’ll find a double bed in the second bedroom which is on the second floor at Tanqueray House. Soft furnishings and cushions help to create a warm and homely feel for your stay, and like the master bedroom it has plenty of storage space for you!
Property Manager are committed to our owners that their homes are protected during bookings. For this reason, we require all of our guests to transfer a £250.00 Damage Deposit (subject to a £10.00 administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver for £25.00 which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full property. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.

The Neighborhood:
Set on the West side of Whitby, Tenby Cottage House is just a short 9-minute walk into the centre of town. Head to Pier Road and you’ll find cosy pubs, fun arcades and plenty of fish restaurants. Continue along the lively road until you reach the beautiful, blue flag West Cliff Beach which is lined with idyllic beach huts. At the other end of Pier Road, you’ll notice the swing bridge which sits over the River Esk.
Over the bridge, you’ll find yourself on the East bank which is full of narrow medieval streets dotted with boutiques, pubs and even more fish restaurants. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.
Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.
Getting Around:
Whitby train station is just a short 6-minute walk away so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.
There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.
