Location:
The small coastal village of Orasac sits on this green and lush stretch of coastline just 10 miles from Dubrovnik and offers peace and tranquillity next to the turquoise waters of the Adriatic. Backed by green hillsides punctuated with the elegant needlepoints of cypress trees and shimmering olives, the village is home to a selection of luxurious hotels, restaurants and bars. The area is dominated by Dubrovnik, known as the Pearl of the Adriatic, a beautiful city with a fascinating and complex history. Today, Old Town Dubrovnik has become a magnet for tourists who are keen to admire its magnificent city walls and explore its winding, cobbled streets and historic buildings.
Enter the Ploce Gare, which leads you into the city walls, greeted by fragrant pine trees and the attractive old harbour. Follow the street until it opens into the Stradun, or Placa. The elegant Sponza Palace sits to the right and the left is the Rector’s Palace, now home to the Historical Cultural Museum. Old Town Dubrovnik’s long, broad central street is lined with beautiful stone buildings and paved with shining limestone. Browse the interesting shops or relax in one of the many restaurants and cafes, the tables of which spill out onto the Stradun. Explore the narrow side streets of this medieval city. At the far end is the famous circular Onofrio Fountain. Before the Pile Gate, steps lead up to the city walls, from where you can begin the 2km walk around the city walls and enjoy the view of the maze of terracotta-roofed houses and narrow streets below. Having been used extensively as a set location for TV show Game of Thrones, fans will be in their element, with familiar locations at every turn.
With so many islands along the coast, guests may wish to take advantage of the many boat trips available. From thrilling speedboat tours to luxurious chartered yachts, Dubrovnik offers a wealth of opportunities to explore its beautiful islands, from day trips to Korcula and island cruises around the Elafiti islands to a quick trip over to nearby Lokrum which is served by regular water taxis from the city harbour.

About the area
Dubrovnik, Croatia, is a mesmerizing city that perfectly combines history, culture, and natural beauty. Often hailed as the "Pearl of the Adriatic", its position on the Dalmatian Coast adds to its allure.
The city's Old Town is one of its most distinctive features. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is surrounded by imposing stone walls that were completed in the 16th century. Within these walls lie architectural marvels such as the Rector's Palace, a Gothic-Renaissance building that now serves as a museum; and the Cathedral of Assumption with its remarkable treasury.
The city walls themselves are a sight to behold. A walk along them offers sweeping views of the Old Town and the glistening Adriatic Sea. For an even more breathtaking view, take a cable car ride up to Mount Srđ.
For those who appreciate nature, Dubrovnik has much to offer. The Elaphiti Islands nearby are ideal for day trips with their stunning beaches and verdant vegetation. Lokrum Island, located just off Dubrovnik's coast, boasts botanical gardens and a peacock colony.
Dubrovnik's culinary scene is also worth exploring. Given its coastal location, seafood naturally takes center stage here. Whether you're dining at an upscale restaurant or a quaint tavern, you'll find an array of dishes that showcase traditional Croatian cuisine.
Cultural events are plentiful in Dubrovnik too. The Summer Festival held annually from July to August stands out with live plays, concerts, and games taking place in various open-air venues around town.
In summary, Dubrovnik presents an irresistible blend of well-preserved medieval architecture and vibrant culture set against a stunning seaside backdrop - truly making it a must-visit destination for all types of travelers.
