Sleeping up to fourteen guests across seven bedrooms, this unique luxury retreat has been built for making memories. Set among four hectares of olive, carob and almond trees, Chic Algarve could not be more aptly-named, from its white stone walls and cosy enchanting interior to its south-facing position - offering you and your guests front row seats to the ever-changing seascape and transporting your back in time to a simpler age.
The rooms of Chic Algarve are warm and inviting, with a soft, natural decor, tiled floors and comfortable, well-crafted furnishings. There are two well-equipped kitchens, two barbeque areas, and plenty of indoor and outdoor dining areas, making this stunning villa the perfect choice for two or more family groups travelling together. Added luxuries include underfloor heating, two private pools, the use of paddleboards and kayaks during your stay, and a daily meal service!
Chic Algarve has four double bedrooms and three twins, so accommodating everyone should be no problem! Six of the rooms have ensuite facilities, with the seventh room (a twin) sharing the main bathroom with the rest of the house. The bedrooms are spacious, light and airy, decorated in light, neutral tones and with mosquito screens at the windows for extra comfort.
Outside is no less spectacular, with those incredible ocean views taking centre stage. Aside from the two private pools and terrace with sun loungers, hammocks and shaded areas in which to both eat and relax, guests here also have access to the private beach - making it an ideal location for family groups who are travelling with young children. There is a private boat that will ferry you to and from the beach as needed. The area is untouched and serene and is home to some 20,000 regular water birds, including flamingos. It’s also a popular area with the local fishermen for clamming, and those staying at the villa could certainly catch a glimpse of this time-honoured tradition during their stay. Guests at Chic Algarve are sure to want to spend their time looking out over the ocean as the sun sets, enjoying a glass of something and enjoying the unique experience of stepping back into an ageless era away from the hustle and bustle of the ‘normal’ tourist experience.

Location:
Chic Algarve is located in one of the most unspoiled areas of the Algarve, in the heart of Ria Formosa Natural Park. The area is famous for its stunning scenery, fishing and birdlife and is a place of breathtaking natural beauty. Visitors are attracted to the area because of the rich array of wildlife, in particular the birdlife, which includes flamingos, egrets, cranes and oystercatchers. Another unique and friendly species you’re sure to encounter on your holiday is the Portuguese water dog. These long-haired beauties help the local fishermen as they work, diving and catching the fish that are caught in the nets and really are a sight to behold.
The waters here are shallow, with the lagoon acting as a nursery for many oceanic species, and shellfish farming here accounts for 80% of the country’s clam exports. These, along with mussels, razors and oysters, are used in the area’s restaurants and eateries to create traditional gastronomic specialities, so be sure to visit one of the many seaside restaurants while you are here.
If you want to travel further afield from the nature park itself, it’s worth exploring nearby Cacela Velha, a beautiful and quaint town filled with whitewashed cottages and rich in historical heritage - including a fortress, from the top of which you can enjoy fantastic views of the nearby lagoons. A visit to nearby Olhao is also a must, which features well laid-out guided walks that allow you to explore all of the different aspects of life in Ria Formosa. Here you’ll be able to learn about the salt marshes which are in abundance in the area, as well as find out about traditional agriculture practices or visit a traditional farmhouse, a tidal mill, and even the Roman ruins. While in Olhao, be sure to take a boat trip - either one that specialises in birdwatching or fishing or one that takes you on a tour of the barrier islands. You can even take a silent, solar-powered boat trip or, if you’re feeling especially adventurous, charter your own sailboat and explore for yourself.
If you’re after total rest and relaxation, you can’t go wrong with a holiday in the Ria Formosa region of the Algarve. Spend your days exploring the dunes, paddling in the sea and watching the world go by before sampling some local cuisine by the beach as the sun goes down. Life doesn’t get better than this.
***Please note that there is a nudist beach nearby the property.
