Located in the rural heartland of Mallorca, in the town of Lloseta, sits this delightful country villa. Surrounded by the Serra de Tramuntana, this five-bedroom property has plenty of charm and character. While the exterior displays many traditional Mallorcan features, including wooden shutters, terracotta tiles and a heavy entrance door, the interior is thoroughly modern and stylish. This is a place where you can feel at home. There’s a good deal of space and the extensive living areas mean it’s easy to do your own thing.
On the ground floor, a light-filled lounge (packed with comfy sofas and soft cushions) sweeps through to a stylish piano room where you can practise your musical skills or relax on the chaise lounge. Homely touches include artwork on the walls, potted plants and delicate chandeliers. Off from the piano room, wood-laminate flooring leads through to a sleek dining room with a table seating six people. And that’s not all. There’s an additional open-plan lounge and dining room where the whole family can congregate. Relax together on the brightly coloured sofas with a film or enjoy a meal at the table that seats ten people. Alternatively, throw open the huge glass doors and let the scent of pine from the gardens waft in. More laid-back options include browsing the books in the vast library or cooking up a feast in the professionally kitted-out kitchen. There’s also a bedroom and bathroom on this floor, a great addition for friends or family who are less mobile. The remaining bedrooms and bathrooms are located on the first floor and include three double beds and one twin. All are drenched in natural, uplifting light and feature rich furnishings, including mahogany furniture, ornate mirrors and heavy drapes. However, the main suite is the real showstopper, with its huge dressing room and covered terrace - you could spend hours on the terrace simply admiring the lush garden and sweeping countryside views.
Back on ground level, the outdoor setting is a treat. Swathes of indigenous trees, olive groves, and citrus plants fill the garden, and the pretty terrace is perfectly set up for sociable, outdoor dining. Spend the day lazing by the swimming pool or soaking up the mountain views. Come lunchtime, cook meals in the outdoor kitchen, and eat under the covered terrace and poolside. It’s a serene, calm spot and ideally placed for those who want tranquillity. Yet despite its rural location, the town of Lloseta, with its excellent restaurants and cafes, is within walking distance from the property.

Casa Biniamar is located in the quiet neighbourhood of Lloseta in the centre of Mallorca. Overlooked by the impressive Serra de Tramuntana, the surrounding landscape features rural countryside. The town was once an industrial centre producing coal but now has a reputation for producing high-quality footwear. From the villa, it’s a few minutes walk into the centre, where you’ll find shops selling footwear, street cafes, and a number of fine restaurants. It’s a pretty place for a quiet stroll with its narrow streets and blend of modern and ancient buildings and has a vibrant Saturday market where you can purchase plenty of fresh food. The local theatre is also worth a visit if you fancy some traditional Mallorcan entertainment, and with plenty of vineyards nearby, you can enjoy a night at the theatre with a glass or two of locally produced wine.
A number of hiking and cycling trails start in Lloseta, so you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to exploring the island’s beauty. Immerse yourself in the scent of pine and citrus while walking the Lloseta to Manacor de la Vall route and on the way, be sure to stop at the historic village of Biniamar.
Also worth a visit is Inca. A 10-minute drive from the villa, Inca is known as Mallorca’s leather capital and plays host to one of the biggest weekly markets on the island. As well as the leather outlets, you’ll find a number of designer stores and speciality shops. After browsing the shops, relax at a cosy cellar restaurant for a plate of traditional cuisine.
If you want a family day at the beach, it’s a 30-minute drive to Puerto Alcudia or Puerto Pollensa. Both bays offer long stretches of fine sand, calm, shallow waters and a number of water sports. Once you’ve exhausted the beach, head to the palm-fringed promenade for a snack at one of the many restaurants.
Alternatively, hop on the train in Lloseta and head to the city. It’s a 45-minute journey, and once in Palma, you can explore the old town with its historic buildings, visit the museums and markets or simply stroll along the waterfront and watch the fishing boats and luxury yachts bobbing in the harbour. Come evening, Palma attracts a fashionable crowd of partygoers who flock to the buzzy tapas bars, nightclubs and open-air venues.
