Step back in time with a stay at this enchanting cottage in the town centre of Henley-On-Thames a stone throw away from the river Thames. A Grade II-listed Tudor property that’s brimming with charm and character, it’s perfect for couples or a small family wanting a quirky escape which is full of history.
The cottage is dated back to 1400, it is furnished and styled to compliments its history with charm and character, a rare find and a true gem.
On arriving at the cottage you’ll be struck by how cosy and inviting it is. The sitting room has a comfy sofa, armchair and a large and beautiful brick fireplace which is unfortunately is just for show and not to be used. There’s a bay window where you can people-watch or close the curtains for privacy. The simple décor highlights the original wood beams and you’ll discover some fun pictures dotted around. The lounge has a desk perfect for catching up on emails. A contemporary kitchen has been tastefully fused with the period charm of the place and is fully equipped with everything you’ll need to cook up a feast for three. Settle down to eat in the lounge with at the wooden dining table. Everything about this place is cosy and intimate.
In the basement area you will find a hidden spot for your laundry facilities. Upstairs the main bedroom has a king sized bed and a view right over the picturesque street below. The second bedroom has a single bed, clothes hanging space and chest of drawers.
Upstairs you will also find the bathroom which has a bath and shower overhead, the bathroom has very low ceilings so please duck your head!
The location is hard to beat in the heart of bustling picturesque market town with independent boutiques, an antique shop and quaint pubs, all within walking distance of the front door. If you’re feeling particularly active, there are fantastic walking and cycle trails in the Chiltern Hills and along the Thames path.
Please note this property is located in the town centre, so some noise from the surrounding area may be expected.
