Location
The property is located in Griblje, a small village in southeastern Slovenia on the banks of the Kolpa River near the Croatian border. The area is characterised by rolling hills, lush fields, forests and the Kolpa river which all offer excellent opportunities for outdoor activities.
For hikers and cyclists there are many marked paths that will lead visitors from village to village and the Kolpa offers opportunities for swimming and canoeing. In the winter months there is a family friendly ski resort, Smučarski center Gače, which is a 35-minute drive away and home to an adventure park in the summer.
The region also offers several historical attractions including the medieval Gradac Castle (an 8-minute drive) which is located on a hill overlooking the surrounding countryside and the charming historic towns of Metlika (a 12-minute drive) and Črnomelj (a 15-minute drive), both known from their rich cultural heritage, architecture and beautiful natural surroundings.
Those in search of the ultimate relaxation will enjoy visiting one of the nearby thermal spa towns; Šmarješke Toplice (a 55-minute drive) and Dolenjske Toplice (a 37-minute drive) are both known for their therapeutic, mineral-rich, geothermal waters and wellness treatments.
The closest international airport is Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport (LJU) approximately a one-hour, 45-minute drive away.
