Welcome to Hillside Heaven! You’re sure to love this log cabin with mountain views, hot tub, and pool table that sits just above and across the road from the New River. Access to the New River, one of the oldest rivers in the world and the only river in North America that flows South to North, is at the Big Hill Community Park just a short drive from the cabin and is perfect for tubing, rafting, fishing, and more. There are outfitters who host rafting and tubing trips, as well as guided fishing trips on the New River (as well as the other nearby rivers). This is a special treat in the spring, summer and fall!
The cabin itself is three stories, and the main level features the living area with soaring vaulted ceilings with tongue-in-groove, wood floors and walls, HDTV, and stone wood-burning fireplace. Glass doors look out at mountain views, and lead out onto an open-air deck with seating, dining, and a gas grill. The adjacent kitchen and dining area sit under exposed beams and wood ceilings. Dine 12 total inside with 8 at the dining table and up to 4 more at the adjacent kitchen bar top. Also on the main level is the master bedroom suite with a King bed and HDTV, and a private ensuite full bathroom.
Upstairs boasts two Queen bedrooms and a Jack & Jill full bathroom with a jetted tub and separate shower, accessible from both upstairs bedrooms. Both bedrooms have vaulted ceilings and exposed beams, full closets and Queen beds, and have doors which lead directly into the shared full bathroom. (In Spring 2022, one of the bedrooms was closed off from the loft due to guest feedback, ensuring that both guest bedrooms upstairs are private.)
Downstairs features another bedroom suite, with two sets of Twin over Twin bunk beds as well as an ensuite full bathroom which can also be accessed from the den and game room. Also downstairs is a den and game room with a pool table, gas log fireplace, HDTV, Nintendo Switch system, comfy sofas, and lots of games to enjoy. Glass doors lead out onto a covered deck with hot tub, with exterior steps down to the yard with the firepit area.
In addition to the New River access, hot tub, pool table, two fireplaces and mountain views; Hillside Heaven offers its guests central heat and AC, a laundry area with washer and dryer, TV and DVD player, WiFi internet, and a newly updated outdoor wood-burning fire pit! Hillside Heaven provides the character and charm of a log cabin, yet with the comforts and amenities of a modern vacation destination. This cabin offers fun and convenient activities for guests to enjoy during all of the OTA! The town of Boone is only 8 miles away, and Blowing Rock is about 15 miles away. Both Tweetsie Railroad and Appalachian Ski Mountain are conveniently close by, located half-way between Boone and Blowing Rock. The Blue Ridge Parkway is less than 10 miles from Hillside Heaven, and the village of Valle Crucis - with the original Mast General Store, and its massive riverfront town park - is about 16 miles away. Grandfather Mountain is about 20 miles away, and Hawksnest Snow Tubing and Zip Lines is only 21 miles away. Snow skiing, sledding, and snowboarding are convenient to Hillside Heaven! In addition to App Ski Mtn, Sugar Mountain Ski Resort and Ski Beech are 25 and 30 miles away, respectively.
