Welcome to Ponderosa 1887, a luxurious cabin on the outskirts of Boone with long range views from almost every angle. This three bedroom log home has three suites, a game room in the loft with pool, shuffleboard, and foosball. Outside is a hot tub on the deck overlooking the amazing long-range views!
The main level opens to a great room with fabulous views. Leather seating surrounds the wood-burning fireplace and flat screen TV. The kitchen is outfitted for all your cooking and entertaining needs. The king suite on the main level has a gas log fireplace, TV, and a large, private bath with soaking tub, tiled shower, and vanity.
On the upper level is the game room in the loft, featuring a pool table, foosball, darts, and shuffleboard. A smart TV with cable and stools let you enjoy the game while playing your own. The two queen suites are both upstairs, one to each side for privacy. Both have a TV, ceiling fan, Juliette balcony, and private full bath with a tub/shower.
Guests may also enjoy the brand new detached living quarters! Finished in the spring of 2025, this space is furnished with a queen sleeper sofa, a dedicated work space, and a full bathroom with a walk-in shower. A great area for those seeking more privacy or some quiet time while on vacation. This area also features its own patio with a sauna and a hot tub. Guests will not have access to park their vehicles inside the garage.
Guests returning to Ponderosa 1887 may receive a discount of 5%, not to be combined with other discounts to the room rent.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Please note that the downstairs area of the detached garage is not accessible to guests.
- The owners of this home use security cameras to monitor the exterior of their home to ensure it remains safe when unoccupied and ensure guests are following the rules. No cameras are aimed at the bedrooms, doors, or windows.
- Firewood may be added at the time of booking or by reaching out to us more than a week in advance. You receive two wrapped bundles and a fire starter for $25/night.
- All Reservations are subject to a $500 refundable security deposit.
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided.
- Check in is after 4pm and Checkout is by 10am
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement.

-CANCELLATION POLICY: Bookings canceled within 24 hours of their creation will receive a full refund of payments. Bookings canceled more than 24 hours after their creation are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
