Welcome to Mimi’s Cottage! This charming 4 bedroom cabin sits in between Boone and Blowing Rock, just minutes to either town and all local area attractions. If you are looking for a cozy rustic log cabin that offers privacy and every amenity you can think of, no need to look any further!
The main level features a spacious living room, kitchen, and the master bedroom with a walk-in shower. The living room has a 43” Smart UHD TV and cozy furniture. The kitchen, complete with stainless steel appliances, is fully stocked with everything you will need to cook a delicious meal. There is a dining table that seats 6 and 3 more seats at the bar. The master bedroom has a king size bed, a 32” Smart HD TV, and an en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower. Upstairs you will find two additional queen bedrooms with a shared bathroom. In the loft upstairs there is a reading nook and foosball table for rainy day entertainment.
Downstairs there is another bedroom with two twin beds and full bathroom. Also on this level is a second living area featuring two sofas and a 65" Smart UHD TV connected to a 5.1 Sonos surround sound system, Nintendo Switch Dock, Cable Box, PlayStation 4, and a spare HDMI port, all powered by 500 Mbps internet connection! (Guests should bring their own games and controllers.) This area makes the perfect place for the kids to hang out or for family movie night. Outside on the deck you can relax in the 6-seater hot tub or around the propane fire table after a long day sightseeing or hiking the wonderful trails all over the High Country. There is also a gas grill for guests to use on the deck.
Location is important when going on family trips and Mimi’s Cottage offers just that! App Ski Mountain, Tweetsie Railroad, High Adventure Gravity Park, Mystery Hill and much more are only a few minutes drive! Electric vehicle drivers can re-charge their cars after exploring the area using the home’s level 2 charging station. Mimi’s Cottage truly offers everything your family and friends need to have a memorable stay and will keep you coming back for years to come!
Additional notes:
- CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 60+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 31-59 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 30 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
- Enough parking for 4 vehicles maximum.
- EV Charger uses J1772 charging plug. Tesla owners must bring adaptor. Charge rate is approximately 25 miles/hour.
- This home is pet friendly with a $25 per day, per dog, pet rent, 2 dogs max.
- 4WD or AWD vehicles strongly recommended during the winter months.
- All linens and towels are provided.
- Owners use a Ring camera that is pointed at the driveway. No other cameras are on the property.
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided
- Check in is after 4pm and check out is by 10am
- Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.

Boone, North Carolina, is a delightful mountain town nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. This town, which carries the name of the renowned pioneer Daniel Boone, offers a plethora of experiences for its visitors.
Nature lovers will find Boone an outdoor paradise. The surrounding mountains are laced with a variety of hiking trails that cater to all levels of hikers - from leisurely strolls to more strenuous climbs. Although not directly passing through Boone, the Blue Ridge Parkway - often dubbed as "America's Favorite Drive" - is in close proximity and provides breathtaking scenic views. These views become particularly spectacular during autumn when the leaves transform into vibrant hues.
History and culture enthusiasts have plenty to explore in Boone as well. The Hickory Ridge Living History Museum offers an immersive experience into 18th-century life with its historical structures and live demonstrations. While not located directly in Boone, but rather in nearby Blowing Rock, The Turchin Center for the Visual Arts is worth a visit for its display of contemporary art from both local and international artists.
Adding to the vibrancy of this mountain town is Appalachian State University. Visitors can experience collegiate energy by attending a football game at Kidd Brewer Stadium or enjoying a performance at one of the university's theaters.
The culinary scene in Boone mirrors its Southern heritage with numerous comfort food options but also caters to global palates with international cuisine offerings. Craft beer aficionados will appreciate several local breweries.
