This iconic road meanders through the Appalachian Highlands, providing breathtaking vistas, hiking trails, and picnic spots. Travelers can immerse themselves in the stunning natural beauty of the area, with opportunities to spot local wildlife and vibrant wildflowers, especially during the spring and fall seasons.
For history enthusiasts, the nearby town of Boone, named after the famous explorer Daniel Boone, offers a glimpse into the region's past.
