Croft House

Croft House is a traditional 18th century Dales cottage with 21st century home comforts, located in the charming Wharfedale village of Grassington, the filming location for the popular TV series ’All Creatures Great and Small’. The cottage is nestled in the heart of the village a stone’s throw from the market square, but is peacefully tucked away in its own private gated courtyard. Cafes, restaurants, superb walks and cycling routes are on the doorstep, including the famous Linton Falls and the Dales Way footpath, so you can leave the car during your stay. There are gentle meadow walks beside the river, challenging hikes round the heather covered hilltops and perfect cycling along minor country roads. Sleeping up to six guests, this Yorkshire property has everything you could need for a relaxing retreat. With three bedrooms, an ensuite and a family bathroom, a homely living room and a spacious open plan kitchen diner featuring modern appliances, Croft House is perfect for the whole family. The property benefits from fast fibre WiFi, private off-road parking on site for one car and an additional free parking permit for the National Park car park a couple of minutes’ walk away. The Space: With soft furnishings and style, the living room has a traditional cosy feel. The perfect place to retreat to after a day of exploring the local area, you can relax on one of the comfy sofas in front of the log burner (gas powered) and turn on the large LCD TV which has easy access to a variety of TV channels and services such as Netflix, to enjoy a night in with your loved ones. You can also bring your favourite films with you and watch them on the DVD player. Head to the kitchen diner and you’ll find a beautifully decorated space. Fully equipped for all self-catering stays, the kitchen features modern appliances such as a dishwasher, washing machine and an oven. Also sharing this space is the dining area which is the ideal spot for family meals, sociable gatherings with friends, or to keep the little ones entertained during early morning breakfasts. Take the stairs up to the first floor to the master bedroom. Home to a comfortable king size bed with luxury white bed linen, you’ll certainly enjoy your sleep at Croft House. There is an ensuite shower room in this bedroom, featuring a WC and wash basin. The second and third bedrooms are both located on the first floor. Each of these bedrooms can be made up with a super-king size bed, or as two singles so Croft House suits all parties from couples to families. The family bathroom features a shower over bath, WC and basin. Towels are provided for all guests. Guest Access: Guests have access to the full property. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date. On site parking is available for one car at Croft House (rare in Grassington), with a further complementary car parking permit for the Yorkshire Dales National Park car park a couple of minutes’ walk away. A Hiplok Ankr Gold secure wall anchor bike locking point is available at the cottage (bring your own locks). The Neighborhood: The pretty village of Grassington is in the heart of Wharfedale, perfect for gentle meadow walks by the river, more challenging hikes round the hilltops, road biking and mountain biking. Just 10 miles from the bustling market town of Skipton, it has great links to neighbouring areas. The Yorkshire Dales are home to some truly breath-taking landscapes. With two protected areas, wild heather covering the moorland, towns and villages full of unique charm and a wonderful peaceful atmosphere, it is a place not to be missed. Whether you’re looking for a summer getaway to explore the landscape or a winter break to cosy up in a country cottage, you will not be disappointed. Croft House is in the heart of the village and is a five minute walk from the river Wharfe, leading to the beautiful Linton Falls. In the other direction, it is a five minute walk to the Dales Way footpath, leading along Wharfedale to the beautiful village of Kettlewell. There are plentiful pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops on the doorstep in Grassington or further afield, there is the pretty market town of Skipton, with its castle, the famous Malham Cove and Gordale Scar, amongst many other attractions. Getting Around: Grassington has great bus links to surrounding areas such as Skipton, Green Hammerton, Pateley Bridge and Boroughbridge. Hop on the 72 route which travels between Skipton and Buckden with stops in Wharfedale, Kilnsey and Kettlewell. The closest train station is a 20-minute drive from the property in Skipton. There’s a direct train service to Leeds on the Skipton line. You can also travel directly to London from Skipton.
