Halftime Haus is a beautifully remodeled 5-bedroom home located right on the slopes of Beech Mountain. A true ski in/ski out during the winter months, and a bike in/bike out in the summer & fall months... what more could you ask for! It is also a lovely home for summer and fall due to high elevation, cool temperatures, long-range views, and hiking trails right out your back door. Also, the house is only a short walk from Fred’s General Mercantile as well as other fun retail and activities on Beech Mountain. You can also walk or drive to the top of the mountain and enjoy ’5506’, which is the unique name of a mountain tavern at the top of Beech, with expansive views of 50+ miles on a clear day, or you can enjoy a walk (or ski) down to the base village for lift tickets, summer concerts, and other activities.
The home has warm, elegant décor and over 3,000 square feet of old-world charm with a Swiss Alps chalet design featuring copious windows and decks. The upper garage area serves as a mudroom, ski, and bike storage area with a deck walkway to the slope right out the door. If the snow is heavy enough, you can ski right to the door. Spacious decks overlook a serene, craggy garden with a small, rushing creek and waterfall. The garden area has a small fire pit to enjoy at night while you roast marshmallows and gaze at the stars. The deck has a Weber gas grill and a Green Egg charcoal grill. Also on the deck you will find a brand new 6-person hot tub to relax in after a long day of skiing, hiking, or other adventurous activities!
Inside relax in a great room with a high cathedral ceiling and a wood-burning stone fireplace. The modern kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances opens up to the great room along with a bar and beverage center to entertain guests. On the same level, there are three bedrooms, each with a private full bath. Above that is a loft for additional sleeping and living space. Central heating and air conditioning keep you comfortable while a whole-house generator provides security. With high-speed internet you can stay connected if you wish. The house has six smart flat-screen TVs, two video consoles, and 100s of DVD movies.
The lower level provides another den/living area and an additional bedroom with a full bath. The five bedrooms easily sleep ten. Finally, on the lower level is a luxury master suite, a living space in its own right with a king bed, a sitting area, a gas fireplace, access to a private deck area, and a minibar. The master suite bath has a large champagne bubble bathtub as well as a double shower.
Halftime Haus truly makes the perfect destination for year-round adventures! Be it a winter ski trip with family and friends, a summer escape from the city heat, a long weekend getaway during leaf season, or a week over Thanksgiving/Christmas... this property offers everything you need to create memories to cherish for a lifetime!
Additional Notes:
- Firewood may be purchased at the time of booking or with a week’s notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a fire starter for $20 plus tax.
- Towels and linens will be provided for you.
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, a couple garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers.
- The driveway is very steep and therefore blocked off for the winter months. There is plenty of parking along the road and in the cul-de-sac at the end of the street. Guests are advised to be prepared with AWD or 4WD vehicles during winter months.
- The seating around the bar (4 seats) is the only permanent seating for dining in the house. There is a folding table to accommodate seating for a meal for larger parties.
