This spectacular 2 bedroom, 3 bathroom home sits on 6 secluded, wooded acres on the Watauga River, affording complete privacy and incredible river views from almost every room in the house!
On the main level are the dining area and main living space with a large flat screen TV, stereo and a stone, gas-log fireplace. Adjacent to the living area you’ll find a fully-equipped kitchen and breakfast nook.
The spacious master suite on the main floor features a king bed, etched glass windows overlooking the river, and a beautiful private bathroom featuring a large tub as well as a separate shower with a rainhead. Just off the bedroom is a sunroom and access to the covered parking bay.
Climb the wide spiral stairs to the upper level, which contains the loft area with a desk housing the computer workstation with high speed internet and printer, two full-sized futons, and a full bath with a shower. Adjacent to the loft is another beautiful king suite with a private full bathroom with bidet. Off of the loft there is a third bedroom with twin over twin trundle bed connected to the loft with a barn door.
Beside the upstairs king suite is the glass-enclosed game room/sitting room, featuring a foosball table, Xbox360, TV, and comfortable chairs, perfect for entertaining the time away on a rainy day. From the game room you can walk out onto a small upper deck with a cafe table and chairs.
On the lower level deck, you’ll find a table with four chairs for al fresco dining, as well as the large stone outdoor firepit on the deck, and the wonderful hot tub. Listen to the river rush by as you enjoy an evening by the fire or soaking in the hot tub. Newly built in 2013 is a flight of 90 stairs leading down to the river, where you can enjoy the sights, sounds, and feel of the beautiful Watauga River up close.
A River Mist is located just 20 to 25 minutes from Boone shopping and dining and convenient to every High Country attraction, yet offers a snug feeling of privacy if you need to get away from it all. The cabin is also only 20 minutes from beautiful Watauga Lake that has gorgeous parks, pontoon rentals and fishing.

- CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 60+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 31-59 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 30 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
- CHECK IN FOR THIS HOME IS 4PM AND CHECK OUT TIME IS BY 10AM.
- Pet Rent: $25 PER NIGHT PER PET. MATURE DOGS ONLY PLEASE
- Please note that the distances shown on OTA’s map feature are measured in a straight line rather than actual road travel distances and times. We cannot change their setting for this, and encourage all guests to independently verify distances to desired destinations.
- Firewood is not provided at the home, but may be purchased in advance from our office with a week (7 days) notice. Firewood is $25/day for 2 bundles of wood and a Firestarter log.
- AWD/4WD is recommended during winter months at all of our mountain homes. In times of heavier snow/ice, chains may also be necessary.
- Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
- This home has one exterior security camera, mounted on a post by the front door aimed at the driveway. There are no other cameras on site.
