Experience this one of a kind unique family retreat! Originally built as a Girls’ camp in the 1920’s, this beautiful property has been lovingly updated and restored to become the perfect haven for your loved ones’ getaway. With an expansive yard ideal for outside play, a babbling brook, a fishing pond, tennis courts, and a unique covered picnic area with grill, plus six bedrooms on three levels, this property offers everything you could need for a wonderful mountain getaway.
Enter Beech Haven with just a couple steps from the large paved parking area. You’ll walk into the kitchen, efficiently laid out to make meal prep a breeze for even the largest groups and offering a big selection of cooking utensils and dinnerware as well as a butcher block peninsula and stainless steel appliances. Beyond the kitchen is a dining area featuring a long dining table with room for 12 people to dine, and there’s three extra bar stools at the kitchen counter as well.
Through an archway beyond the dining area is a spacious living room, a wonderful place to gather together and make memories. This room has a wall of windows overlooking the views and the big yard, as well as a selection of furniture, a fireplace, and a TV. The three-season room is accessed through this room, as well. There is also a ladder-accessed loft off the dining area, leading to a carpeted balcony area – the perfect place for kids to hang out with a book!
Off the dining area is a hallway. Here you’ll find two suites, each with a Queen bed and attached full bathroom. There’s also a flight of stairs leading to the top level, which is entirely comprised of the master bedroom suite. The master suite features two Queen beds and a private bathroom with a shower.
Downstairs is another huge gathering space, with an L-shaped sectional, large TV, poker table, laundry area with two sets of washers & dryers, and a side room with a pool table, shuffleboard, arcade table, and ping pong table. There’s also three more bedrooms on this floor: one with a Queen bed, one with two Twin beds, and one with two sets of built-in twin bunk beds. These three bedrooms share two unique bathrooms, as each bathroom features two side-by-side showers in a modern nod to the house’s beginnings as a girls’ camp over a century ago.
As many wonderful things as Beech Haven offers inside, the outdoor area is just as exciting. There’s a stone patio behind the house for enjoying the cool mountain air, as well as a huge mostly flat yard with a private, fenced-in tennis court, a stone fire pit area, a stream-fed pond accessed by a bridge over the stream, a hammock, and best of all there’s a large pavilion with woodburning fireplace, oversized charcoal smoker grill, and two long tables for everyone in your group to sit and enjoy an outdoor meal.
Beech Haven is at the base of Beech Mountain, just 5 minutes to downtown Banner Elk and yet feeling like you’re miles away from it all. Come relax, renew, and make new memories with your loved ones today!
