Durango Dreams 464
Bursting with character inside and gorgeous views outside, you’ve found the perfect home base for your next Durango vacation. This quintessential mountain cabin is located 22 miles north of Durango and boasts a spectacular, secluded setting, surrounded by mountains, wilderness, and the San Juan National Forest. Spend days hiking, mountain biking, fly fishing, or horseback riding. In the winter, you’re just five miles south of Purgatory Resort.
At home, you’ll love spending time outside on the spacious deck. Grab a cup of coffee, kick back in one of the Adirondack chairs, and admire the breathtaking mountain view. Fire up the gas grill each evening for a simple dinner and dine alfresco at the picnic table. Lucky guests of the primary bedroom upstairs have outdoor space of their own, with a private, mountain-view deck.
Inside, you’ll find a space that fulfills all your cabin fantasies. Floor-to-ceiling windows bring the view inside and period decor, including historic photos and artifacts, covers the full-scribe cabin walls. Hardwood floors throughout, plus a soaring wood-burning fireplace (with wood thoughtfully provided), complete the look. The full kitchen features an antique wood stove that’s been refurbished to work as an electric cooktop and an under-mount electric oven in the kitchen island. There’s plenty of counter space to turn out a feast and the window-front dining table guarantees a meal with a view. End your days of exploration on the leather sofa, streaming the latest release, uploading the day’s pics to social media, or listening to music on the stereo. At bedtime, three comfortable rooms await - two on the main floor and one upstairs, plus a sleeping loft the kids will love. With such a spectacular setting and unique space, the only thing missing from this perfect Durango picture is you.
