Arguably the most famous southern suburb along the coast, at the heart of the fabled Athenian Riviera, Glyfada is brimming with life - yet has a wonderful nonchalant aura, thanks to its enviable position next to the sea. Attica’s best beaches are close by and there is a host of great restaurants, fancy cocktail bars, healthy food and gourmet stores, cinemas as well top tier shopping within walking distance. Glyfada is a paradise for boatsmen as well, with a wealth of large or smaller marinas around. And though it seems far removed from the downtown’s bruhaha,
Glyfada is actually no more than a 30-minute drive away from the Athens city center. And if you don’t have a car, there is an excellent tram connection to Syntagma and Peiraeus, when you feel like venturing beyond your sun kissed microcosm.
