The village's main attraction is its beautiful, sandy beach, which stretches out to provide a perfect setting for sunbathing, sandcastle building, and leisurely strolls. The beach is also a favorite for water sports enthusiasts, offering conditions suitable for swimming, kayaking, and sailing. The coastal waters around Saundersfoot are teeming with marine life, making it an excellent spot for fishing and boat trips, which often include excursions to nearby Caldey Island, home to a community of Cistercian monks.
Saundersfoot's harbor is a bustling hub of activity, where visitors can watch local fishermen land their daily catch or embark on a coastal cruise to explore the stunning shoreline. The harbor area has undergone significant redevelopment, enhancing its appeal with a mix of shops, cafes, and restaurants that serve fresh, locally sourced seafood and other culinary delights.
For those interested in history and culture, Saundersfoot has a rich mining heritage, with old coal mines that once thrived in the area. The annual Saundersfoot Harbour Festival is another highlight, celebrating the maritime heritage with music, food, and family-friendly activities.
For a more relaxed experience, visitors can indulge in the local wellness offerings, including spa treatments that incorporate the therapeutic qualities of the sea.
