When you come up from the beach, an outdoor shower awaits to rinse off sandy toes and suits! Inside, you will find an airy and open layout featuring high cathedral ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows facing the water, rustic wood paneling, and a wood stove to cozy up beside after a full day of adventure. When everyone works up an appetite, the full kitchen is equipped with Corian countertops, oak cabinets, modern appliances, a spacious island, and a double sink to make any recipe a breeze. Relaxation won’t be hard to come by either with a hammock, newer deck, comfortably furnished living areas, and the south-facing sunroom. Not to mention, the main bedroom offers an ensuite bathroom complete with a deep jetted tub to soak in each night.
The slow island lifestyle is the main draw in this area, as bonfires, boating, biking, and swimming are all great ways to use each day. It's a place where the pace of life slows down, and nature's splendor takes center stage, making it an ideal retreat for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.
The island's natural beauty is its most compelling draw. With its lush landscapes, rolling farmlands, and stunning lake vistas, Grand Isle provides a scenic backdrop for a variety of outdoor activities. Boating, fishing, and kayaking are popular pastimes on Lake Champlain, where the water's expanse offers ample space for exploration and recreation. The lake is also a prime spot for birdwatching, as it's a key point on the Atlantic Flyway, attracting a diverse array of migratory birds.
Cycling enthusiasts will find Grand Isle to be a paradise, with its relatively flat terrain and scenic byways that offer breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and water. The Grand Isle Art Works, a local gallery and café, showcases the creativity of Vermont artisans, featuring handcrafted goods that reflect the island's rustic charm.
The island's agricultural heritage is celebrated through its local produce and farm-to-table dining experiences. Seasonal farmers' markets and roadside stands offer fresh fruits, vegetables, and other local delicacies. Vineyards and wineries also dot the landscape, inviting visitors to taste the flavors of Vermont's burgeoning wine industry.
Accommodations on Grand Isle range from cozy bed and breakfasts to lakeside cottages, each providing a warm and inviting atmosphere that complements the island's peaceful setting.
In essence, Grand Isle is a destination that offers a tranquil escape and a chance to reconnect with nature.
