Part of a handsome redbrick mansion block, this one-bedroom apartment combines a warm palette and a classic, period aesthetic. Comfortable furnishings, leather-bound books, and decorative antiques, offer an indulgently British experience, whilst the location - beside a leafy private square - affords you the odd moment of quiet, despite the bustle of central of London being a stone’s throw away.
Classic period features, eclectic artwork, and curious antiques are showcased in generously-sized rooms, with no shortage of natural light. The living room is a masterful mix of fresh white interiors and full-length windows, lifted by vibrant wall art and two loveable (we think), sculpted canine companions. Plush armchairs and a working gas fireplace really crank up the comfort, making this the perfect place to unwind after a hard day’s city-scoping. There’s a classically vintage study with apricot interiors, warm lighting, and two well-stocked bookcases - should the academic aesthetic inspire you to finally start that novel. The sofa here converts into a double bed and there’s a dining table for four - both great for hosting visitors. The principal bedroom continues the cosy, apricot theme, with large bay window theatrically framed by sweeping gold curtains. A cushy bed and Smart TV are on hand to help you unwind. In a timeless English home like this one, we suggest you stick the kettle on, curl up in an armchair, and relax.
We love...
We all love a grand entrance, and this home certainly encourages them. Think quintessential period apartments, with smart redbrick exteriors, ornate railings, and attractive foliage. We’d say resist the urge to swagger about with a top hat and parasol, but where’s the fun in that?
Home truths:
In classic London style, there are steps up to the second floor, but fortunately also a lift. The bed is a small double, so may be quite snug. This apartment is not suitable for children under 12. During the summer, the host might pop by occasionally to water the plants - or ask if you’d be happy to (if your plant care abilities are more reliable than ours).
