Location
Dubrovnik riviera is picturesque area lying along the coast, with the gentle and rocky coast abounding in natural bays, with a mixture of pine and olive groves, vineyards and the Mediterraneous bush-covered rock. Dubrovnik region includes basically all areas that were once a part of the Dubrovnik Republic - the lush Elaphite Islands, Peljesac Peninsula, Konavle and Zupa to the east with the lovely town of Cavtat, Trsteno with the famous Arboretum and many seaside places to the west, Peljesac peninsula and the town of Ston, Mljet island with the beautiful National Park area, and the Korcula island with the medieval town of Korcula. Visiting Dubrovnik is not a complete pleasure without seeing at least a part of its surroundings: the good land and sea connections offer the possibility of organizing either shorter or longer excursions. Orasac is a picturesque town with a nice beach, spring water and ancient olive groves. It is well known for its excursion destination restaurants, in particular the ’Soderini’ castle, once owned by one of the great men of Florence who had to flee his hometown from the Medici family and he found shelter and peace here (16th century). Today, the castle has been repurposed into a hospitality facility.

About the area
Dubrovnik, Croatia, is a mesmerizing city that perfectly combines history, culture, and natural beauty. Often hailed as the "Pearl of the Adriatic", its position on the Dalmatian Coast adds to its allure.
The city's Old Town is one of its most distinctive features. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is surrounded by imposing stone walls that were completed in the 16th century. Within these walls lie architectural marvels such as the Rector's Palace, a Gothic-Renaissance building that now serves as a museum; and the Cathedral of Assumption with its remarkable treasury.
The city walls themselves are a sight to behold. A walk along them offers sweeping views of the Old Town and the glistening Adriatic Sea. For an even more breathtaking view, take a cable car ride up to Mount Srđ.
For those who appreciate nature, Dubrovnik has much to offer. The Elaphiti Islands nearby are ideal for day trips with their stunning beaches and verdant vegetation. Lokrum Island, located just off Dubrovnik's coast, boasts botanical gardens and a peacock colony.
Dubrovnik's culinary scene is also worth exploring. Given its coastal location, seafood naturally takes center stage here. Whether you're dining at an upscale restaurant or a quaint tavern, you'll find an array of dishes that showcase traditional Croatian cuisine.
Cultural events are plentiful in Dubrovnik too. The Summer Festival held annually from July to August stands out with live plays, concerts, and games taking place in various open-air venues around town.
In summary, Dubrovnik presents an irresistible blend of well-preserved medieval architecture and vibrant culture set against a stunning seaside backdrop - truly making it a must-visit destination for all types of travelers.
