Beach-side duplex featuring 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths and 2 terraces spacious (120m2), bright & sunny but shaded by a pine forest, with a golf course + pool (communal), close to the beach - this is our nicest Costa Brava condo. Everything is set for your rest and relaxation.
On the ground floor there are 3 bedrooms: a double bed en suite master that leads outside to the ground terrace, one bedroom with 3 separate beds and one bedroom with 4 bunk beds, ideal for children but also suitable for singles. Guests will be sharing the 2.5 bathrooms located on both levels (one shower, one tub, one just with a toilet). The house was designed for 9 people to have enough personal space, privacy and communal area access to enjoy the best possible experience. There are office tables & chairs in all bedrooms but the master. The patio furniture on the ground level comes to complete the seating options of the upper floor deck.
The upper floor’s living room has cloud-like couches you can sink into, rocking chairs to read books by the fireplace (imagine the sound of the wood cracking) and an entertainment corner. The space is very generous and the natural light echoes through to give you a dimension of serenity. The white color palette is sprinkled with earthy tones, wood and natural shades, to stay in harmony with the abundance of nature outside. Everything about this house says serenity and relaxation.
The open floor plan of the fully stocked kitchen (everything you need for making a light breakfast or a generous meal; coffee machine, fridge, dishwasher, oven, induction plate stove, microwave oven plus pots, plates and cutlery) and its generous adjoining dining seating all come to complete the activities area with versatility of use and touches of color. A discrete office table & chair allows you to finish writing emails in privacy, while remaining surrounded by your company. The sundeck you step out on has been furnished for your every need, with comfortable lounging options in delicate hues and textures. Close your eyes and imagine the wind rushing through those pine trees, carrying their smell, or the sound on your feet stepping on their carpet of needles.
This outside activities area is, again, versatile. You can split from the group for more intimacy or spend all your time together, enjoying the best parts of this house: the intimacy of the private sundeck, the comfort of having a nearby swimming pool (shared), where you can relax pool-side and escape the heat by dipping in the water, the outskirts to explore (Costa Brava’s absolutely fantastic scenery) or the inside to take a quick breather. And then there’s the golf course in Pals, which is where things might get interesting. The ground level outside area is also perfect for chilling, having a beer, gossiping, playing board games, or planning the next adventures - all we ask is that you respect the neighbors!
First of all, welcome to Pals! We’re happy to have you and we hope you have an amazing time staying in our flat. That being said, at the risk of being obvious, here are some basic ground rules:
Be mindful
We are not the police, nor do we want you to feel like we are patronizing; but we think it’s our duty to point out some common sense stuff, as we’ve had our experiences with not so well behaved guests in the past.
Respect the neighbors. Put yourself in their shoes, and keep the noise down to a minimum after 10PM. You are on holiday, but they might not be, and would appreciate a good night’s sleep. We want you to have fun, but be reasonable and don’t do unto others what you wouldn’t like done to you. Pissing them off is only going to get you into trouble, and surely you don’t need that while you’re on holiday.
No Parties!
We get it, you’re excited about being on holiday but remember, the walls are thin and if you’re having a party, so are the neighbors. And maybe they’re not in the mood for that. Don’t start a fight you can’t possibly win, it’s their town and we want to respect that. Any guest that causes a disturbance will be asked to leave the apartment immediately (no refund at all to be granted). Sorry!
Watch out for slamming doors. Try to be quiet when entering the house, it’s not hard to be a good neighbor and we’re sure you can do it.
Be fair! It is not allowed to have more guests than you indicate during your reservation.
Keys & check-out
Don’t leave the keys in the mailbox. If you leave earlier than check out time, please leave the keys on the table and pull the door behind you to shut it. Most flats have the type of door that doesn’t require you to lock when you leave. That’s something to watch out for, as it’s very easy to get locked outside (which is also a bummer, take our word for it). Make sure you lock the door with the key every time you leave the flat. That way your belongings stay safer.
Don’t smoke inside
NO smoking allowed in the apartment. We care about your lungs, but if you have to do it, please step outside. We’d like to keep the flat from smelling bad when our next guests arrive.
Don’t waste energy
We kindly ask you to please turn the lights and air conditioning units OFF whenever you leave the apartment. We care about our planet.
Extra stuff
Additional cleaning, bedding etc can be arranged for a longer stay - but you have to request this while booking.
Tourist tax:
The government of Cataluñya imposes a tourist tax of €1.10 to be paid by every person over 16 per night with a maximum length of 7 days. The tax is a small price to pay in exchange for clean beaches, well-maintained roads, and good facilities.
Arrival
Standard Check-in is from 15:00h to 20:00h. However, we can accommodate late arrivals as well.
Please note the extra charges for late arrivals:
Arrivals after 8PM have to pay €25 in cash to the person making the check in with you.
Arrivals after 12PM have to pay €50 in cash to the person making the check in with you.
These charges are due to late working hours of our staff.
Departure
Check-out time is by 11AM.
Note: if there is no booking for that day, talk to us about arranging a later check-out (if possible).
Lost keys
If you lose a key, there will be a charge of €60 to replace the set.
Kind request
On your last day, please wash the dishes and take out the garbage.

Meet your surroundings
The house is located on the idyllic Costa Brava, the most beautiful part of the Catalan Riviera - the French border is a stone’s throw away. Pals is one of the best kept medieval towns you can visit here in the Baix Empordà, the Girona province. The emblematic pines around the house are a hallmark of the region.
It stands on the top of Puig Aspre, and the municipal boundary reaches as far down as the coast, boasting a very long beach, ideal for water-sports. Characteristic of the area of Pals are the rice paddies, inheritors of the swampy environment that used to be there and which add charm to the area.
The town
The Romanesque tower in Pals was built between the 11th and the 13th century and has been substantially restored. The town’s cobbled streets are punctuated by semi-circular rock arches, the façades grab your attention through their pointed arched windows and well preserved stone balconies. The town wall contains four square towers which date from the 4th century (yes, we know, that sounds incredible!).
From the Josep Pla viewpoint you can see the whole of Emporda sprawling at your feet, and also the Medes Islands, Montgrí Massif, Canigó and Sierra de l’Albera. If you are passionate about archeology, the town Museum is a must.
On the edge of the main town you will find a thriving urban area called Masos de Pals, a very coveted location for holiday homes.
The nearest beach is called Platja de Pals ("Pals’ Beach") and is also a popular holiday location. Several gastronomic and cultural events are organized throughout the year, and the surroundings are simply breathtaking, with an unspoilt beach, dunes, wetlands and rice fields, all part of a natural park
The easiest way to get to the house from the airport is with personal transportation. The drive takes about 2 and a half hours from the airport or 2 from Barcelona city center. Ask for our help if you need transportation. The closest train station is about 2km away from the property.
Don’t worry about shopping for groceries!
There is a well stocked SuperCor market accessible on foot from the house. In case you mean serious business, go on an expedition a bit further and grab some fresh local meats or produce, and fire up the barbeque for some poolside cooking. Enjoy your delicious meal! 🍽
Your safety is our priority!
While every professional company cleans their short-term rental thoroughly between guests, these challenging times require special measures. Rest assured we’re taking additional precautions to disinfect the property to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
We’re in constant accordance with new protocols advised by global health organizations (including the ECDC and World Health Organization) to have a system in place called “COVID-19 Disinfection Checklist for short-term rental disinfection”.
The laundry is cleaned professionally after each guest checks out, according to the same guidelines and by the same team. We leave nothing up to chance, because your safety is what matters most to us.
Speaking of your safety
Masks, gloves, and disinfectants are widely available at any pharmacy and in most shops & department stores. We’ll leave some soap & hand sanitizer at the apartment for you.
Traveling by car?
If you are planning on driving. rest assured we’ll help you park your car safely. We typically recommend booking your parking spot ahead of time online, and offer a discount via parclick.
Is this a work trip?
The house is equipped with reliable, fiber optic WI-FI and offers a very comfortable setup to work from home. Well, as comfortable as working can be 😇
