Three Eagles On Whidbey
This bright family and dog-friendly, five-bedroom home features plenty of diversions, including a large park across the street, a ping-pong table, and a huge, fenced yard for the kids and the family dog to play. There are two dog beds and two dog crates provided for Fido’s enjoyment as well.
Start your day on the wraparound deck with a cup of coffee and a gorgeous view of Holmes Harbor. The chef will love whipping up some waffles for breakfast in the open, updated kitchen, with lovely slate-blue cabinets, all the appliances, shiplap walls, and a huge butcher-block island. When it’s time to eat, pull up one of the barstools, choose the breakfast nook, or make it a more formal affair in the large dining room, which seats ten.
After breakfast, you can head out and explore local shops in Freeland or visit Langley, about five miles southeast. But with so many cozy nooks to occupy, including a bonus rec room, as well as a wood-burning fireplace on the main level, you may want to hibernate. There are three TVs with streaming capabilities as well, so everyone can watch what they want. If you’re into jigsaw puzzles, there’s a custom-made puzzle table that seats up to four people and a cabinet full of puzzles and games for you to enjoy. Amateur astronomers and ship-watchers will love the telescope and binoculars. The well-stocked bookshelves offer the opportunity to leave a book and take a new one, if you love to curl up with a water view and a fabulous story.
After a day out (or in) throw dinner on the gas grill and gather on the deck once again to toast your luck at finding such a welcoming vacation hideaway. At bedtime, you’ve got five bedrooms to choose from. Two queens occupy the main floor, one with an en suite bathroom; downstairs you’ll find two more queen rooms and one with a queen plus twin bunk beds, perfect for a family with littles.
