This UNESCO World Heritage Site, perched on a rocky outcrop above the city, is home to the Parthenon, the Erechtheion, and the Temple of Athena Nike, among other significant structures.
Beyond the Acropolis, the ancient Agora, the Roman Forum, and the Temple of Olympian Zeus offer further glimpses into the city's storied past. The National Archaeological Museum and the Acropolis Museum house vast collections of artifacts, providing deeper insights into Greek history and art.
Athens is not just about ancient history; it's a bustling metropolis with a lively arts scene, eclectic neighborhoods, and a culinary landscape that ranges from traditional tavernas to Michelin-starred restaurants.
